WR is right in there's no rock bands of the quality of the past. But there's definitely good bands around. Are we in a day and age where becoming that massive and good is now impossible?

In the rock arena, yes. Such is the changing landscape of music

Speaking of massive and good bands...

Crowded House have announced two concerts on the steps of the Opera House to celebrate 20 years since their final show.
Pretty keen to go to that!

So my old man recently flew out to China for 4 weeks and a mate went to Vegas for a buck's party last week - for some odd reason, I've become hooked on watching Air Crash Investigation. I think I watched about 3-4 eps over the weekend. :p

No idea why either. Weird, but I can't stop haha.

That's a bit dark, especially with both of them going on planes as well, lol. Sure hope none of them involved Malaysia Airlines (Singapore Airlines FTW).

Then again, once you get an inspiration, and the material inspires you, I guess you do get that feeling that you want to see more, and then before you know it, you're on a binge run.

Watched an episode a few weeks back. Some crazy Russian pilot let his 15 year old son have a crack at flying the plane and ended up crashing it killing everyone on board.

It's so bizarre! Obviously I don't want anything bad to happen to either of them and I'm not stressed/worried about flying either - I have no idea how it happened. I think it's just an addictive show! It's been around a while but I've never really sat down and watched it properly.

Agreed on Singapore Airlines - went on one when I visited the Philippines. Think it had a SNES system with street fighter 2 built into the seats. :D Actually, one of the eps I watched had a cabin fire started by faulty wiring relating to an inflight entertainment system.

I think my missus was telling about the same episode or maybe something similar! Something about if the pilot had let go of the controls instead of trying to wrestle back control - then the autopilot would kick in and save the plane...

I just find it fascinating how they can determine the cause of an accident even if the plane has disintegrated into millions of pieces. I struggle just with jigsaw puzzles - have an unfinished GoT one sitting at home! :p

Sweet! Who's in it?

It's the map of westeros - huge, think over 1,000 pieces at least. I'm not a big jigsaw fan but somebody gave it to me as a gift. Need to find a week or three to try and nut it out. :p

My indoor side has won our first two of the season - normally we're easy beats so great feeling to finally be competing properly! Last minute winner last night, but their first shouldn't have stood, I tackled a guy and took the ball 100% cleanly, didn't slide or anything just a standing tackle and won the ball and ref signals FK, which they scored off. Won 3-2 last minute. We take on our mates' side next week though, who we use the keeper from which might be problematic for us haha.

Is it the 3D one?

Made that with a few friends. Took us two 4ish hour sessions to complete on a weekend.

Yeah I think so! Has little landmarks and things that sit on top of the jigsaw itself.

Far out, are you guys pro jigsaw completionists Loon?

I've done tiny bits and sections so far - mainly around the borders or with big chunks of text. Might start with the north first when I sit down and try and finish it - get rid of all the white/snow pieces. :D

Haha no not really. The snow was the worst part! There were 5 of us working on it though.

Been looking for a new show as I've currently got nothing to watch. There is a slew of superhero shows out. Agents of SHIELD, DC's Heroes of Tomorrow I think it's called and Supergirl.

Anybody seen any of the first two. Watched the first episode of Supergirl and was like... nope. They just crammed everything into the first episode. How about make the show more normal for the first half of the season. Let us meet the characters, understand them, really flesh them out, before Supergirl even start to do anything super.

But nope. They just crammed the whole back story, the reveal that she is Supergirl, her coming out to National City and being in the papers, fighting her first big fight against a random bad guy, learning her aunt is a super baddie somewhere. I dont know just everything was crammed down my throat in like 45 minutes. Terrible show.

Sounds like now's your chance to watch The Wire. No excuses.
