Just the sarcastic and playful tone that Spiderman has in the comics even though he's in danger or fighting villains. The Garfield Spiderman was like that but could have been moreso while Tobey's never really had that. This feels like the perfect blend.

It seems to have the genuine high school feeling to it. Contrary to the name Spider-Man, he's actually really a kid. Casting a 19 year old to play him is more believable at least.

The other movies suffered a bit from the Springfield Heights 90210 syndrome.

Let's have a warm welcome for the stars of the popular teen soap opera Springfield Heights 90210. He's cool, he's sexy, he's 34 years old! Say hello to Kyle Darren!

This one is more in line with the Marvel universe as opposed to just being a franchise on its own.

I acknowledge that it is a little too soon, but well... I think this one has real potential. From what we've seen so far, Holland's got the nerdy look of Maguire and the wit of Garfield (seriously, it's like they switched Parker and Osbourne around for the rebooted series), and combined with the clear Avengers edge with Tony Stark present, and I think we've got a nice new angle.

There certainly does seem to be a lot of Superhero films of late, but it just feels like everyone is just riding on Marvel's set to success, (or in some cases, just making a film just to keep the rights... Fantastic 4 was very poorly handled). For me, personally, I don't even bother with DC or the Marvel ones made by Sony or Fox (Never got into X-Men at all, did the Dark Knight trilogy just on reputation, had no interest in BVS nor Suicide Squad at all when announced.)

One interesting to note about Marvel's series is just well, how varied its heroes and the feel of each hero is. Finally got the chance to see Doctor Strange, and I think it's one of the best ones (Cucumber Man may have been the safe choice, but hot dog, he did a fantastic job). All of the Marvel films have their own character, and it is refreshing to see some really unique hero choices get a run in rather than the 'same old, same old,' and that's why Marvel have done it well, we are getting some new material and even when we're doing the origin stories, there's a unique factor about them (the way Marvel handled one of its most powerful characters, and just the manner in what was actually done for the power progression and it ended, that is certainly very unique.)

I think the big question is what will happen after the Avengers 3... there is a lot planned to get there, and you feel that there is one big payout there, but what happens after will be a big mystery, because I don't know how you would top that. But for now, I guess we're still on that ride.
I think I may be a bit superhero fatigued myself without really noticing. I didnt bother to go see Suicide Squad at the cinema. I also missed X-Men Apocalypse and Captain America Civil War. I have since downloaded Civil War and Apocalypse yet they have both just sitting on my HD and I havent bothered to watch either yet.

I can understand why you're a bit meh about another Spider-Man movie given you haven't seen Civil War. Your view may change after you see it.

For me, he was the best part about Civil War.

I need to watch that, but I haven't seen the first CA - do I need to have?
Watch the second one definitely before Civil War. Will make Civil War make so much sense.

Nah, walking the dog. What's the score?
Home town points decision. Kiwi media will play the good person card but that's corrupt as they come. Ruiz won the first 4 rounds clear as day. Rest were 50/50 bar 2 that Parker did well in

Russell Westbrook and James Harden get so much stat praise, yet their teams are shit and lose and nobody wants to play with them. Looking forward to seeing these frauds in the playoffs

Watched the last 6 or so minutes, was pretty much Harden v Westbrook, both just hog the ball and play like they're the only ones out there.

Westbrook is starting to look tired. The West is not that good. The Spurs really need to upgrade at Point Guard.

Agree he does look tired, you can't keep getting triple doubles, impossible.

My Spurs won't get near it, we're still a great team but agree on the point guard position. Have my hopes on CP3 in the off-season.

I would suggest watching The Winter Soldier, still the best of the marvel movies thus far IMO.
I prefer Civil War but no doubt they are the best two Marvel movies.

Civil war was more bland to me, maybe I just didn't pay attention. I'm getting quite fatigued though.

I love superhero movies so much.

Although I haven't seen the Thor movies. That might have to change with Taika Waititi directing the next one though.

I liked the first Thor, haven't seen the second.
