It was but so was Matt Ryan taking the snap with 15 seconds left on the play clock each down. Just let it run down each snap and let the time disappear.

nah. first team to score a touchdown wins. if you only get a field goal then the opposition get a chance to have the ball for a drive.

Then why would you ever attempt a field goal? Even at 4th and like 20... you'd still try to get a 1st down. Cos field goals are pointless.

maybe. they might do it due to an elevated risk of injury when tired or to get the game over asap.

remember golden goal? Sports need to work through these things.

Yeah golden goal was shit.

Every sport has extra time. AFL in finals, football in cup matches, NBA in any regulation game. NFL needs to get with the program.

I don't really have a problem with it tbh. a field goal used to be enough to win the game but thankfully they changed that. Pats were always winning that game in OT anyway so the outcome wasn't affected.

I agree, when it was just field goal it was stupid. They only needed 40ish yards to win the game. Now they have to make it 80ish yards.

I was a fan of golden goal as well. I don't see why you need to play an extra 30 mins in extra time. You had 90 mins to get it done - once a team takes a lead past that, that should be it.

Yup I loved golden goal too. Everything was on the line and scoring the goal that you know has just won the match is thrilling.
