The Shield is good to follow up The Wire on.

Great minds. I was actually coming on here to recommend The Shield. I've seen and rewatched if at least three times. I think it's easier to get into than The Wire, it has a faster paced start to the series and both series are brilliant.

I haven't but I'll have a look at what it's about.

I like that you mentioned Ian McShane is in it. IMO, he played one of the greatest ever characters for Deadwood.

It IS the commercial crap on the radio at the moment. It's flooded all of the commercial stations. Terrible song, terrible lyrics, and terrible voice. I thought it was a chick the first time I heard it.

It's a lot better than the other songs that drown the stations like that song by Pitbull & Bob Marley's relative. And that stupid Coldplay / Chainsmokers song.

I'd say the Harry Styles one is the best of a very ordinary bunch on the radio at the moment. Unless that Lorde song is getting a spin over there. That's obviously better but everything else is so shit. Anything with Selena Gomez is crap so that song with Kygo is painful. Same goes for that Shawn Mendes song. That's pretty much everything that gets played right now.
