He did a full 3 min piano rendition of Waltzing Matilda that led straight into Rocket Man, ******* god

Whole show was a highlight really, he played almost all his biggest hits
I saw him solo at Werribee Mansion in 06. That was a great show.

My fav Elton song is Benny and the Jets.

He played it 2nd song in, unfortunately the crowd was in general at least 30 years older than me so they didn't party as hard. ****ing Bennie's on and they're all sitting down

Just checked the set list - a hits show but nothing wrong with that.

He was with his band right?

It never ends. Disgusting.

Apparently the gunmen were in high rises. This gets more sophisticated by the incident.
I ****ing hate guns. Screw the 2nd Amendment.

Can't lobbyists properly 'defend themselves' with a weak pistol or even w/rubber ammunition? It shouldn't be this easy for everyday citizens to access military-grade weapons, especially not in a supposedly civilised country such as the USA.

My housemate and his gf are in Vegas right now. We're supposed to go to the area where the gunmen caused havoc but they were running late and then got told what happened so they stayed put.

How lucky are they! Then again, getting caught up in this whole situation isn't at all ideal. I hope they're well and safe.

Thank goodness for their timing.

The U.S is ****ed up. It’s the one place you don’t automatically think is Islamic terrorism when you hear about a mass attack.

How ****ed up do you have to be to do what this guy did? I can’t even begin to comprehend it

Just saw that. Never a huge fan but he’s a very respected artist. Best song for mine is “Refugee”

Yep. And the attitude from the gun nuts like always will be “if only some people in the crowd were armed, it never would’ve happened”.

Last week in a Michigan day care centre, a toddler shot two other toddlers. Imagine applying the same logic as above to those two toddlers. ****ing ridiculous.

Literally saw a post on twitter saying exactly this. Yep lets have a crowd of people shooting blindly towards the 32nd floor of a hotel, that'll definitely cause less deaths/injuries that just not having guns to begin with.

They think they need assault rifles to protect themselves because other people have assault rifles because of their stupid ****ing constitution. No wonder they voted in Trump, (less than) half the population are ****ing morons who would rather live in a country with a deadly infectious disease and treat the symptoms rather than implement the obvious cure.

It's not only that, the ridiculously minimal regulations on purchasing guns in the US is idiotic. FFS this administration removed a legislation that was previously approved by congress under Obama that people with mental illnesses had to have a background check before purchasing firearms. How can you possibly argue that isn't appropriate?

In comparison this is what you have to go through to get a gun in Japan, where they have less than 10 gun-related deaths a year compared to over 11,000 already this year in the US and an incident where multiple people have been shot on 9 out of 10 days of the year, where at a gun show you can buy a gun without any checks, licenses or without the sale even being recorded:

Incredibly lucky! They were on a contiki so I presume there would be quite a few of those heading to that spot as part of their itinerary.

Tokyo's one of the safest cities in the whole world and you'd get arrested for having a small knife

Nothing will ever change, we've been through these talks before, but it'll just keep being circular because too many people in America make a lot of money outta selling firearms unabated
