Saw this on reddit, pretty darn cool. Mandarins are so delicious when in season, and Horses are such beautiful animals. Can't wait for the Spring Carnival to be over.

Where do you source these hybrid citruses? Only at a specialist fruit shop, surely.
Weird. The fact that SM didn't even know what it is makes me think it's not widely available elsewhere. Supermarkets and your run of the mill fruit shops stock them in Spring here.

Then again the Costa Group does have a lot of fruit from Mildura shipped here and that'd be prime growing conditions.

Nope, not here. Unless I just don't notice.

Yeah, I've never heard of them - and I've lived in Victoria for half my life. Interesting, will definitely be on the lookout for Tangelos the next time I'm back visiting.

Questions lads...

My car recently blew up. It's a white 2000-03 Hyundai Elantra. I bought it for $1800. In great nick. Served me really well for like 4 years. Then while driving the other day, it just blew up on me. The piston went right through the engine block. Totally ****ed.

So I bought a new car.

But outside of the piston through the engine block, the car is fantastic. So what should I do with it? Any ideas? I know you can get scrappers to come and take cars away and they give you like 100 or 200 bucks or something. But the car is worth way more than that... well apart from the engine that is now totally ****ed.

Anyone know much about cars and selling cars or what to do with broken cars?

I doubt it's worth your time mate. You paid $1800 for it 4 years ago an it's since just destroyed the engine block. The car's not worth much at all now.

You can try and advertise it as is but I don't think there'd be much interest - anyone that's looking for a car at that price could probably just find another one that works (similar to how you did 4 years ago).

Out of interest, what was the new car you bought?

I’ve never paid much attention to that My Budget commercial until now. The woman says she had $25,000 worth of debt and within 2 years of joining My Bugdet she was completely debt free and now she doesn’t have to worry about money.

Haha, **** off.

All depends how much coin she's earning ;)

Just seems such a waste as the car is really great. Clean and in excellent condition inside. No dents or crashes on the outside. Like a few scratches here and there. Good tyres, good battery... I mean if the engine hadnt gone on it, I think I could easily have sold it for as much as I bought it for.

Do you think it would be worthwhile maybe looking to buy a new engine for it? How much would a new engine be? I mean if I can get a new engine for 600 bucks or so then sell the car for 1800. Im still making 1200.

As for the new car. I got a 2004 Nissan Pulsar in great condition for 2,600. In the car yard it had a big sticker on it saying $3999 but I found the same car being advertised for $2999 on carsales.com so I ended up getting it for $2600. Bit of a bargain really.
