Who are you asking to terminate these criminals? Rather than having them waste away in prison.

The.. prison staff? Not me, an accountant? I don't think the choices are SM kills them or send them to America. There's a fair amount of nuance to it.

Capital punishment falls over as a legitimate end solution because of the 1/1000 or 1/5000 that end up being innocent. Can't undo a life taken. But you can compensate someone for years behind bars whilst innocent.

Yep very valid as well, which is why I'm not hugely in favour of capital punishment, but to me letting someone rot in jail until they die is just a prolonged form of capital punishment. If you think a person genuinely is entirely irredeemable then to me there's no point making them suffer behind bars at the cost of the taxpayer. I think it's a cop out saying that letting them die of natural causes is better than pulling the trigger ourselves. If you think a person IS redeemable, then you have to be prepared for the day when they get released back into society.

How many in the US have been executed that ended up being innocent? They’re still pretty selective over there, it’s not like they’re killing every person put up for murder.

How would there be qualified people out there when we haven’t done it in modern history? Who’s qualifying them? What qualifications are they going through to perform that role?

Again, where did I say it would be simple? In saying that you're making it sound far more complex than the reality when as you say there'd be an absolute minority of cases it'd apply to.

The death penalty is far more expensive than a system utilizing life-without-parole sentences as an alternative punishment. Some of the reasons for the high cost of the death penalty are the longer trials and appeals required when a person’s life is on the line, the need for more lawyers and experts on both sides of the case, and the relative rarity of executions.

How? You are taking a strong stance on punishment based around the notion of a life taken unfairly.
But killing 1 person via the death penalty who ends up being innocent is flawed?

That’s on the extreme end obviously but it’s like saying if you arrest someone on drug charges and it turns out they were innocent, you shouldn’t arrest people on drug charges in case you’ve got it wrong.

I’ve not done the research on it but I’d be curious on how many/if any people that have been killed have actually been innocent in the US.

No thunderstorms, no storms, 4 or 5 days where it has actually rained and even those days cleared up fast and the forecast for the next week is one day where there is going to be light rain. The early mornings have been chilly, but a lot of those days have ended up being sunny.
