I really can't stand those who ascribe the actions of the perpetrators here to a state and / or religious group.

That obviously isn't the case, we're dealing with individuals who are obviously disturbed and radicalised in their beliefs.

Find out what lead them down this path and make sure it never happens again.

Of course Trump comes out with an absolutely hideous tweet about their deaths.
Should surprise I guess. The words of a pathetic childish imbecile

If Rob Reiner and his wife were Trump supporters, Trump would be calling them great Americans.

Such a prickish man child who has his feelings easily hurt by criticism.

Paul Doyle, the guy who mowed down over 100 Liverpool fans celebrating their title win has been sentenced to 21 years in prison. Seems that when he was a young man he had a few violent altercations, but then nothing in 30 years until this incident. It's hard to understand what made him do what he did.

Festival GIF by hero0fwar

To all who celebrate, I have a lot problems with you people!

Merry Christmas to all. Hope you guys have a fantastic day.

Mines a bit easier this year, just had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands so no cooking the feast for me today. Get to eat and drink and relax instead.

How do the passport changes affect those born in Aus to UK citizens?

My parents now have to get UK passport to travel there or face a fine. I assume i am a citizen by birth but there would be no way if them knowing that without me declaring my parents are citizens, if i want to avoid getting a new passport.

I would renounce but its $1000 apparently. Just a joke all around

What's a summary? I have an Irish passport, am I impacted?

From 25 Feb If youre a UK/Ireland citizen you need a passport for that country to enter it. Your Aus passport will not be accepted.

If you already have one it shouldnt matter re your entry to the UK as Paddies have a right to abode there, dont quote me on that though.

Edit: A non-citizen now needs to pay a hefty 589 pound fee for a "Certificate of Entitlement". So it would make financial sense for me to get a UK passport which is 120 pounds

Understandably a few dual citizens are pissed off

If you haven't got a UK passport would their authorities know you were a UK citizen? You could apply for a £16 electronic travel authorisation (ETA) which lets Aussie citizens travel to the UK for up to 6 months. But even if approved you would be taking a risk. You don't want to fly there then get turned away.

The Certificate of Entitlement £589 allows you to live and work in the UK without a time limit. Or you could renounce your British citizenship at a cost of £482.

Maybe just get the passport.

If you're a citizen why the **** don't you have a passport? Easier travel.

I havent been since before COVID. I remember trying to apply but my dad lost his birth certificate so I ended up just using my Aus passport. The COE was much lower so i didnt bother.

If i was a frequent visitor then sure i would but otherwise its a waste of money for me.

How much does it cost? I got an Irish passport pretty early and it's not very expensive to renew and I haven't been over since 2018. I'm actually about to go through the process for my daughter. It's something like $100?
