The thing is that it's the triple j Hottest 100, not the objective Hottest 100 right. So it kinda makes sense that their shortlist (of like 900 songs) would be limited to what they played.

If there's 900 songs on the list that's a pretty wide selection to choose from. But the voting is going to be influenced by how many times Triple J have chosen to play each song. Are the presenter choices made public before voting finishes?

I've not got a beef about it. I'm more curious about how the process works. I see it a bit like the movie awards. It's not objective but it's a way of discovering material that other people have valued.

No. My point is the randomness doesn't seem so random. If I shuffle, I can get the same songs usually, some songs don't appear - this is over multiple months. There are threads on reddit about it.

Yes. I go through periods of adding stuff. There arent a lot of good stations in Ireland that play new music and I don't spend a lot of time in the car anymore, so that's why I don't like anything new on JJJ. Even when we were in Aus for Xmas I didn't like a lot of it, personal taste.

Thats a very different point than songs coming up multiple times in a shuffle. Spotify gives you songs that you listen to regularly so it's a bit of a catch 22.

Yeah my playlist has 463 songs and there are songs that come up significantly more often than others. Recently added songs also will appear in the next "shuffle"

It is just frustrating they can't shuffle the whole playlist like iTunes (for example) does/would.

Been without a phone for a couple of days as the screen randomly died on me and it's really weird. Probably weirder because I'm still carrying it with me as it "works" so I get notifications and can use the bluetooth in the car/android auto, but outside of that I feel like I'm missing a limb. Got a new one coming in but maybe this is a good heads up on phone use and dialling it back.

I was once talking to someone whilst they were wearing those glasses. Suffice to say when I realised, I got out of there quick. I felt spied on and it was uncomfortable.

My wife did make that point. Like it could be awkward wearing them in kids playgrounds if there's other kids around.

I reckon most people would be able to pick out meta sunglasses out of a crowd by just looking at the two very visible cameras .
