The thing is that it's the triple j Hottest 100, not the objective Hottest 100 right. So it kinda makes sense that their shortlist (of like 900 songs) would be limited to what they played.
If there's 900 songs on the list that's a pretty wide selection to choose from. But the voting is going to be influenced by how many times Triple J have chosen to play each song. Are the presenter choices made public before voting finishes?
I've not got a beef about it. I'm more curious about how the process works. I see it a bit like the movie awards. It's not objective but it's a way of discovering material that other people have valued.
