Wages of Win have a 2 part article on their top 10 most overrated draft prospects. Here's picks 6-10

http://wagesofwins.com/2012/06/17/the-10-most-overrated-2012-draft-prospects-part-1/

And a link to the underrated prospects

The stats heads I follow have had a semi for Will Barton and Jae Crowder for WEEKS.

9. Jeremy Lamb

But, for all his size an athleticism, he wasn’t particularly good at creating possessions

From elsewhere on the site

The notion of “creating” shots has been explored extensively on this site in the past; it’s hard to define, harder to measure, and frankly, an overrated skill

Sources: Celtics will look to package #21 and #22 to move up, or trade away one of them in another deal - apparently they do not want to bring in two rookies (wording of the article must be wrong because they bring in two rookies every year... Maybe two first round rookies)

Considering last year's draft was a borefest in which they traded down from #25 (MarShon Brooks) to #27 (JaJuan Johnson) and a future 2nd, I'd happily see something at least a little interesting such as trying to move up with #21 and #22. Any chance we can get Belichick in there with them?

So with the Wiz/Bees trade, reckon Beal might go at three?

Oh, and sblack here is the second part of the overrated draft picks. Austin Rivers at 2!

Brilliant.

Don't agree Barnes is the most overrated. But he has the 'potential' to be the next Marvin Williams. They are literally the exact same physically. Barnes could become MW but an above average midrange shooter instead of a 3pt shooter.

Top five looks close to set if you believe reports...

1. Davis
2. Robinson
3. Beal
4. Barnes
5. MKD

Sac would be laughing if that happened.

Would the Cavs pass MKD up for Barnes? I would really hope not haha

The draft gets so interesting after the top 5. I think Lillard is the next best but you also have Drummond and some wildcards like Perry Jones/Rivers.

I can't remember where I read it but apparently Barnes and Kyrie are best mates (it was a direct quote from Kyrie too). Not sure if that would be enough but its being spoken of that the Cavs will take whoever is left out of Beal and Barnes anyway.

Pick 6 will be interesting for the Blazers if Drummond and Lillard are both still around.

Watch the Kings trade down or make a big reach for a player! Sacramento is having real trouble getting players to work out that are around that range! Drummond and Lillard worked out and so did Henson, Zeller, and T. Jones but players like Beal, Robinson, MKG and Barnes either have refused to, cancelled or not worked out for SAC.

The worry is that Petrie has said many times he would not draft a player that he doesn't work out!

Its a shit time to be a Kings fan and it won't get better any time soon!

It is a massively dumb stance (David Kahn is of the same mind). If the GM's don't know what they have following their college career, what are they doing?

Its not about evaluating talent. Everyone knows what you have by watching the college ball. The stance is more to do with the person they are and how they fit within the organization and whether their perceived personal "issues" are overweighted by the talent they have (eg Cousins).

What if you draft the guy and they pull a Steve Francis on your team and say they will not play for that team. The team is forced to trade them for 50 cents of the dollar or less.

So I am not sure its as dumb as it comes across and I honestly do not blame the players for giving Sacramento the cold shoulder considering that outside of some young players we have, there are no other positives about the team. The ownership is broke and has no interest in selling or ability and willingness to spend to get better. We have revolving door at the head coaching position and have ever since our dumb ass owners did not re-sign Adelman. Our player development has been non-existent and we have a coach who creams himself at the thoughts of small ball run and gun.

If I was a prospect in this draft, I would stay away from Sacramento and if I get drafted by them, I demand a trade otherwise I am more than happy to go play in Europe until I get traded or the situation on the team improves.

They can meet them at the pre lottery combine in Chicago, they can interview college coaching panels. Bad character flags come up quickly in any event.

As to Steve Francis scenario, Vancouver were idiots. You simply tell this kids agent that you hold their draft rights in perpetuity and if they ever want to see a minute of NBA time they'll report. There will be no trade.

I reckon they have enough info to draft without getting them to produce some canned answers at a workout.

However, Kyrie and MKG seem to be more close knit as they went to the same high school in New Jersey, St. Patrick's HS... MKG would be going to either Wullets or Cavs in my opinion.

Very interested in the Warriors pick, they said they will pick the best available which is interesting as the only real hole in their starting 5 is the SF position. Best available will probably be Lillard/Drummond but I guess it all depends on who they rate highly, I'd like to see them go to Dion Waiters or Terrence Ross. Also talk that the Bulls are considering offering up Luol Deng to get this pick.

Further to the rumor that Royce White has a promise from Boston, he has now shut it down. I hear the Wolves liked him when he worked out in Minneapolis, even if they have no role for him.

Golden State should be ok with their small forwards in Wright and Jefferson. Ideally if MKG or barnes drops then they would pounce on them but they have an injury prone starting PG and crappy D so Lillard and Drummond would still be good choices. But yeah Luol Deng would be a beastly trade :D

Wright/Jeff as well as the rights to Rush and McGuire (who was awesome on D)

Young SF would have been nice, but it's all about BPA for us.
