To continue the free agent discussion from before, what kind of contract is Patty Mills looking at? If he can have a few big games in the playoffs I could see him getting a 3/12-14 kind of deal

Yeah I guess so, I just figured Gary Neal got 3.5 mil a year and I'd much rather Patty

Credit where credit is due for Patty, he's having a great season. Shooting percentages are top notch and he's also keeping the turnovers down.

I'd like to see him stay in San Antonio for as long as Pop and the core stays together - he'll never find a more enjoyable situation. The Spurs have managed their cap beautifully, so without looking I'd guess that they could probably find room to give him a deserved pay rise.

Delly getting his jersey retired at Saint Mary's tomorrow. Pretty unbelievable the career he has carved out for himself. The accolades keep piling up. I guess getting an nba ring and olympic medal are next on his plate :D

On a non-Aussie note, did anyone else find it strange that David Aldridge and Kevin Harlan both said this week that they can't believe that Ibaka isn't an All-Star?

He's had a good season, but I can think of at least half-a-dozen players in the West with better claims, and many more besides with equal claim..

The West side is the best side

Probably more to do with the team he plays for rather than Ibaka's individual play. OKC have the best record in the league but only have one representative in the All-Star game.

True, albeit only by default - Westbrook was an automatic inclusion before he was injured. Probably makes Dragic's case even stronger b/c Phoenix are the only playoff team who are not represented - not just any playoff team either, on pace to win 50 games which is kinda mind-blowing.

If you look at the bigs selected in the West - Love, Griff, LMA, Dirk & Dwight, + AD as a late call-up - Ibaka was never going to make it. Cousins, Duncan, Pekovic, Lee, & Z-Bo could all put convincing cases forward to be the next in line. Even DeAndre Jordan would have a case as strong as Ibaka's.

I was really hoping that Dragic would make the cut, have been a fan for a while.

Was listening to Bill and Jalen today and they even mentioned him as a first team All-NBA candidate, and as ridiculous as that would have sounded a few months ago I don't necessarily disagree.

Yep, seconded.

When Lowry went down injured mid-season a couple of years ago for Houston, Dragic grabbed the reins and went beserk for a couple of months just before he became a FA. I was intrigued because he was part of the nixed CP3 trade - at the time he seemed like a throw-in, in hindsight he was the best piece offered.

Couldn't believe the Rockets let him go after that, imagine him on that team now. He's unbelievably popular in Phoenix, Steve Nash Mark II in more ways than one.

:( . This video depressed me

I really want to see Nash win a championship but its looking like the end for him

In fairness Ibaka has been massive since Westbrook went down. Something like 18/11 and 3 blocks on 65% shooting, and he pretty much anchors them defensively these days. However, it would be a team selection and not an individual selection, as the West is just stacked with bigs. If Cousins can't make it even as a wildcard, Serge isn't going to.

Steve Nash is in my favorite 5 players of all time. And I can sympathize with his frustration, but it doesn't depress me and I don't feel sorry for him. He got to live his dream of being an NBA player. There are 100s of millions of people out there that dream to live his life. He's 40 years old with 10s of millions of dollars in the bank (if his misses hasn't taken it!) and will undoubtedly make a great coach in the future. So he is set. Retirement comes for every player. The fact he played into his late 30s is a lot better than most players.

Yet he's still playing better right now than any other Rookie in the league...
His numbers over the last month are pretty similar to Oladipo's. Vic is averaging just under a point a game less, on better shooting % from the line and field (42% compared to 37%) also an extra steal and less turnovers. MCW's best has been better, but if Oladipo plays 80 games and MCW plays 55-60 then that may be the difference in the ROY race

I would expect MCW to have more turnovers because he plays permanent PG vs the elite PG's in the league where as Pido plays PG as well as SG coming off the bench against lesser opponents. MCW averages less turnovers per game than the likes of Westbrook 4.0pg (hasn't played many games though), Curry 4.1pg and on par with Wall at 3.5pg.

Last 10 games:
Points - MCW (16.4), Pido (14.6)
Boards MCW (4.2), Pido (3.6)
Assists MCW (6.2), Pido (4.3)
Blocks (MWC 1.2), Pido (0.2)
Steals (MCW 0.9), Pido (2.1)

FG % (MCW .396), Pido (.410) Whole Season
3 PT % (MCW .291), Pido (.303) Whole Season
FT % (MCW .707), Pido (.777) Whole Season
Turnovers (MCW 3.5), Pido (3.2) Whole Season
