When you guys first signed Amar'e and Felton I remember they were putting up pretty big numbers for half a season.. then the Melo trade happened which obliterated your depth and messed with your chemistry.

Hard to believe it was only three years ago.

Dan Tony inflated numbers.

Even Chris Duhon was putting up 15/10 for a while

Oh without a doubt, but I also think that duo worked better with Gallinari on the wing rather than Melo. Simplified matters.

Felton could run the pick and roll with Stoudamire, even if he can't do much else. His weight really blew out when he hit Portland, he was absolutely horrid there.

Anyone give Atlanta a shot of getting home-court in the first round?

Horford & Millsap seem to be meshing better than expected, and Teague's putting up numbers. Offensively they looked well balanced, while they also just got both Lou Williams and Gus Ayon back which bolsters their bench.

I wasn't convinced pre-season, but they're looking OK.

Lakers would be a good chance for home court if they were in the East. **** that is a shitty conference, falls away pretty bloody quick after the first few teams.

The top 3 looks set, after that it's currently a big drop off. Any number of a dozen teams could be the 4th best team in the East at the moment and none of them would make the playoffs in the West. This is lucky for teams like Brooklyn or New York, as it still gives them time to sort their shit out and they might get the forth seed winning around 45 games. Where as 45 wins might not get you a playoff spot out West.

Agree that top three will be Miami, Indy, Chicago (in whatever order), then...

The Knicks have a pretty tough couple of weeks coming up, particularly without Chandler - could easily see them falling to a record of 6-11 or even 5-12, which puts them a long way behind the eight-ball.

Brooklyn will probably turn it around sooner, but without Iso-Joe's winner in Phoenix they'd be 2-7 right now.

Detroit have started slowly, although I still think they're a lock for the playoffs. Cleveland and Washington look nowhere near it, Toronto are meh and Milwaukee have been decimated by injury.

If they avoid injuries the Hawks will win 45 games easy, might even push 50 given the state of the East.

I think Charlotte have a decent crack at 5 or 6 in the East with the way things are going. Suppose Atlanta clinch 4, it's probably a grind out between them, Detroit, Brooklyn, NY and whoever avoids collapsing horribly out of Washington and Cleveland for 5-8. Hell, Celtics coupd have a crack if they abandon the Panzer.

The Bobcats will go okay if they can get an even offensive contribution from Jefferson, Henderson and Gordon so Kemba doesn't keep trying to play gunner/chucker every game. MKG and Biyombo can anchor the defence. Funny that they barely have a two player across their squad though, but their odd mix could work.

I reckon the Bobcats need to go the Draft wishing-well one more time and find themselves a decent two-guard who can shoot.

College watchers might be able to shed some light - any shooters (another Beal or Thompson?) forecast in the 6-10 range of the upcoming Draft?

A mate of mine thinks Doug McDermott is the best shooter in the country but I think he might be more of a SF. Cats will have their chances in this draft though. Should have 3 picks, their own, Detroit's (top 8 protected) and Portland's (top 12 protected). Should turn things around as the Hornets

This Cavs team is ugly to watch...the offense is nothing more than letting Kyrie try to break down the opposition either off iso's or pick and rolls.

Yeah Irving is a great player off the dribble, but it isn't really helping his team when the ball is in his hands and everyone else is just standing around...of course, it doesn't help either that the Cavs don't have a reliable 2nd scoring option.

It is probably a bit early, but will Kyrie make the US Olympic team? Might want to come and play for Australia if there is a bit of doubt about this?
