Ravens win!

Wait wrong thread. Not a massively entertaining day of the A today, will be good to see if hand down employs the hack-a-Monroe

Troll NFL plays?
I think Brady's punt yesterday was a "you've got a ways to go, brah" to Tebow.

Back on topic: I wonder what the attendance is for GSW @ DET today? The Palace holds a touch over 22,000; they're averaging just over 12,000/game and excluding the opening night sell-out they're down around 9,000/game...

Greg Monroe to go HAM on the Warriors frontcourt today.

PS: you gais postin nfl stuff in this board. banz worthy?

I wouldn't mind some hack-a-Monroe, he's 11-12 at the line already. Excuse me, I got an appointment with the charity stripe.

Indeed it was: 11,774.

They're now averaging 11,719 on the season; 9,993 without the opening night sellout. Capacity is 22,076, and there's probably some inflation in the reported attendance too...
That was just after the media in the US blasted the Pistons organisation & fans for not encouraging crowds and not turning up.

On a related topic what is going on with the Sixers crowds?

I saw only around 8000 turned up vs Indy the other night and 10,000 the next vs Sacra.

I know they aren't big drawing away teams but Philly is a basketball city and the team is on a great start. I can't understand why people aren't turning up.

Crowds have been dismal for the past couple of years. Mostly because the old organisation ran them like a dog, and drove them away.

The new consortium that has taken over has redone the whole ticketing brackets (upper level seats are like $15) to draw crowds in. As well as attempt to change the whole image of the organisation, attempting to get back to the old school Sixers (change Mascot, new motto/slogan, brought in the '83 Champsionship side, including the incredibly shy Andrew Toney for the opening night). They showed a pretty nice presentation that shows they want to link the past with the present to get back to historic Sixer basketball

But the main issue, is that the Sixers are such a distant 4th in line of respect in the city.

Eagles
Phillies
Flyers

Sixers

In terms of interest in the city.

If we keep winning by ridiculous margins and become somewhat more relevant, the crowds will come (like any team really)

Subbed.

Also, Greg Monroe is flat out beasting at the moment. Him and Hibbert continuing the Hoya big man tradition.

on the 6ers issue. i know its history but the name 76ers doesnt allow for much when it comes to marketing, mascots and the like.

for lulz the organisation could have two mascots, one a 7, the other a 6.

some uniforms of the 6ers in the past have been borderline woeful.

this one was a shocker

blue, red and white are classic colours allowing for many options. the new ones are simple which in most cases work. but they're also boring.

the iverson years jersey was good. but of splash and booya about it.

could the team move away from the 6ers name?
