Was great D from Amir Johnson. He motioned like he was about to challenge the Arenas shot, then at the last second stepped out of the way. Arenas was expecting the body contact, and was probably thinking free throws - without that contact he completely muffed the layup. Amir knew exactly what he was doing and executed it perfectly. Kid can play D.

Most fans were calling for the defensive coordinator from Houston (?) can't remember. But something happened, and was never readressed. Thibideau or something like that. Someone that can make us a defensive team, and allow the offence to play their up tempo fast break, and then iso in the half court.

Avery was one of the first names that was mentioned, but I think he wanted too much. We only got EJ because he reduced what he originally wanted. The Top 2 for most of the Preseason was Casey, the DC of the Mavs, and Chris Ford, who was our assistant under Larry Brown I think, and was Assistant for a few other teams.

It's funny, because when first asked about the Sixers, Avery said stuff like Lou can be a starting PG and can play well (tick), Willie G cannot start (tick), Iguodala cannot play SG, should be SF and some minutes at PF (looking like it should be a tick), we need a leader because AI9 isn't one (tick), and we need Sam to be consistent for us to win, but didn't know if he actually can (tick). People laughed at that stuff.

I think fans would kill for Avery now.

Please lets hope it's only a minor injury, even if it's a 2-3 week layoff ... I haven't seen the footage or the game, but Oden has had so much bad luck with injury throughout his very short career so far.

I Would be so gutted for him and Blazers fans if it's a season ending ..
