He is probably on the mark with this one. Times have changed for better or for worse. Mou probably a good example of it not working.

What a random tweet from Morgan, but it's almost as if coaches need to adapt to new environments constantly.

It’s random and completely wrong. Sure he applied the blow torch and sometimes crossed the line with what he did/said but he also nurtured through a whole bunch of young talent. The world changed a lot more from when he started managing to when he finished compared to what’s happened since he retired. He managed to adapt to that just fine.

This is the same Piers who has spent the last week saying silver/bronze medals shouldn’t be celebrated and athletes with mental health issues are weak.

I don't think the game has changed that much. The manager's role in terms of personnel is to nurture young talent while also having a strong enough personality to keep the massive egos in check.

But the top managers are all hard as nails when it comes to decisions for getting results. Fergie was ruthless about getting rid of players he thought were no longer useful to him. Tuchel probably didn't think twice when subbing Reece James who had just come on as sub. Pep criticised Foden publically then left him out of the team for weeks.

Other sports such as rowing are probably more driven by a hard physical training regime than football. Touchy feely doesn't cut it. The guy who makes you train hardest will get you the medal.

The NFL is having the same problem even though their protocols are so prohibitive that its just easier to get the vaccine (not to mention the fact that its effectively become a competitive advantage to be vaccinated so players that aren't risk losing their jobs because of it)

Unfortunately some people are beyond logic

Ffs. Make it mandatory for all players, officials and staff at clubs.

Should also be mandatory for all player househould contacts.
Unfortunately a lot of the BAME Community over here haven't taken up the vaccine and a lot of premier league footballers are BAME.
