Your post doesn't make sense as a reply to what I said. I said that I watch any enjoy watching any level of football. I support my local club whether it's under 17s, women state 2 or sunday league.

As for whether I choose to pay to watch A League, W League, under 17s that is a different matter. I don't think the standard is worth paying for. I pass no judgment on you if are happy to put your money into it yourself.

You realise if you have no issue watching it, that paying for it is the best way to support its development and growth? It'd be like saying you're happy listening to pirated music but wouldn't pay for it. Not quite the same, but supporting the people involved in the game is important.

100% this.

I do agree though that clubs, glory in particular, charge quite a high charge that does filter out the casual fan.

I don't have a problem with someone saying they don't currently want to watch it because the skill level is not the same as what they want to see (i.e I'm not going to spend my afternoon watching the North West Counties League compared to PL), but it shouldn't be due to gender. When young girls see more professional pathways then they are likely to stick at football all the time and the skill level will increase. It's the same in the AFL. When it became professional all of the sudden the entire league standard increased because kids just played all of the time rather than getting jobs or going to university.

I generally agree. The skill level at lower leagues can be enjoyable to watch - but not what you might pay for.

It gets more complicated when you are trying to balance financial viability with encouraging females to play. If the W League is not viable, who is paying?

For the past 5 years or so at my local club, women's registration has been cheaper than the men. For years, with mostly male membership, we had no facilities. Then we apply to the government because of female participation, hey presto, we get multiple changing rooms, a bar and floodlights.

Yeah for sure, was more thinking the women's game which is pretty cheaply priced. If you have no issues with the product, a small charge to support the game surely isn't beyond you.

Yeah the w league was cheap as chips and not a bad standard at all

I would have gone down to the WBBL as they had a lot of games at North Sydney Oval but realised it was being played there too late into the season. Looks like it would be a great day out getting 2-3 games back to back, sitting on the hill with some drinks and a picnic. Mint.

If you love football like I do its pretty simple - you follow and support the sport at its highest level where you live.

I think it is ridiculous that any supposed football fan doesn't get behind their A League team because "its not as good as the EPL". Imagine all the league 1 and below teams in England had fans with that attitude.

I get some in here may only have a casual passing interest in the game and follow a PL team because it is trendy. More understandable those sorts of fans only get into the big ticket event and havr trouble engaging with the bread and butter stuff.

Those who live and breathe the game though should be getting right amongst the A League and supporting the game in Australia (or wherever they live). Anyone that doesnt is definitely a Eurosnob.

I find it difficult to follow the A-League because my city used to have a moderately successful NPL team but we have no A-League team currently.
So I can never feel much attachment to an A-League team when I feel like it might be a good chance that the Wolves do return.

Everton’s team for the 2029/30 season will have Fernandes at CAM, Daniel James on a wing, Pogba in the middle after joining on a free from Juventus. Maguire the rock at CB and DDG in goals.

Tony Pulis will be manager.

Rooney will be player / manager.

Hopefully one day you get one but I suspect Canberra gets one first.

I assume you follow the Wolves in the FFA Cup though, didnt they get 10k vs Sydney FC in the cup a few years ago?

Yeah went to that game.

Going to try to go to as much Phoenix @ WIN as possible but who knows what happens there with this cluster and if a bubble opens (admittedly looking less likely to be before the end of the season now).

The FFA ****ed up with the two new teams. Western United is a shambles (really should've been Geelong if they were looking at Vic, City/Heart should've been Sth. Melbourne from the get-go) and Wollongong with their football heritage would've been a better option than Macarthur.

It would be much more ideal for the league to structure back to backs even for the youth league (which is a joke on its own) to capitalise on crowds and nicer pitches to play on.

Exactly this. I will say though that the FFA and clubs haven’t done enough to promote the game and make it more accessible for the general public though.

Nothing about an Adelaide City team who was about to leave a folded NSL, or an Adelaide United team with no history could win this young kid over at the time.

So an Aussie in Harry Kewell being at Liverpool was the biggest draw card for me, if I was born a year earlier it's possible that I'd be sitting here as life long Leeds fan. The best I can do is support Australia at the world cup every 4 years. But at club level, my heart is not set on supporting two clubs, so Liverpool is the club for me.

My heart is definitely with both Melbourne Victory & Liverpool. You should give Adelaide Utd a go (even though they are a bunch of filthy inbreds)
!! You wont regret it, nothing beats being involved with the club you follow every week.
