Yeah that serves a purpose to go up. There is no going up or relegation in the A-League. So dont do playoffs. You finish top, you're the champion.

So there are play offs in football. :)

Kind of ironic calling others eurosnobs with such an arrogant post. If you want to follow local league fine, doesn’t make you any bigger fan of the game. Utter nonsense

Did this post hit a bit too close to home? Calling out those who wont support the A League because it isnt the Premier League is the exact opposite of arrogance.

Everyone has different tastes. Calling out those who don’t agree with your flawed logic is arrogance. I’ve been supporting overseas football longer than the A league and even NSL existed. I support and helped out my local team non A League team. Occasionally watch some games but I’m just not a fan of the league as much as I am euro leagues.

I‘ve supported NFL for decades but I have to support the local league? Nonsense

Whos talking about having to support anything? If you live and breathe the game of football you support it in every way possible. Some of us are only prepared to watch the European leagues. Nothing wrong with that, bit like me with basketball. I only have a casual interest and follow mostly the NBA.

If someone follows a euro league(s) or NBA and watches every week, keeps up with all the news then they are more than a casual fan...illogical to think otherwise.

Not sure why people are so intent on making others change their minds.

Not liking the A-League doesn't make anyone a snob. I personally don't watch it because I don't like it, and I'd rather spend my time doing other things I enjoy doing. But if people want to watch the A-League because they enjoy supporting a local team or whatever, I'm not going to bash around for doing so.

This conversation has also been done to death about 43 times.

Stan kroenke everytime he walks past Arsenal fans.

Didn't you just say you enjoy watching the A-League?

Not much. There's too much possession that goes nowhere followed by a poor final ball. The atmosphere at games is a bit artificial. I'm not a fan of central control of which clubs are in the league, with no promotion/relegation. I don't like the finals system to decide who wins it. Apart from those things I'm a big fan :p

What a coincidence, give it another 10 years and Bruno Fernandes will be the highest assists leader in football history and Bradesmaen will still be taking pot shots at him.
He takes pot shots at his own team which is so amusing.

Atmosphere is very good at MVFC games. Its a reasonable standard (not PL obviously) with plenty to offer, teams have a go generally. Promotion/ relegation will eventually happen but is difficult to institute because of how big Australia is. FFA Cup is quality.

Finals in sport is just the way things are done in Australian sport so I dont see it as a negative, I went in 2007 when Archie scored 5 against Adelaide, amazing experience.

The general attitude of some fans that the A league isnt good enough and that they will stick to European football is actually holding back development of the game here. Ive seen kuds in junior programs that have an expectation that football is the Premier League and thats just plain wrong.

Just imagibe what would happen to League 1 and lower clubs if the fans of those clubs had similar attitudes to the game that we see in Australia sometimes. Im not going because thr standard is a big drop from the PL. Ridiculous IMO.

It really isnt. Its a good standard but to expect PL standard is just pure eurosnobbery.
It is not even Championship standard though. It would sit around the League 1 maybe even League 2 level.

The fact that Le Fondre could dominate is an indictment on the A League

I follow United pretty closely as they are the local team, but I struggle to sit through any neutral games as the quality just isn't there, and if people don't have any connection to a team, then it's understandably difficult to get interested (more directed at AV, chef and Loons).
i cant watch neutral games for the most part either. the quality that was here has been hoovered up by other countries

Been to one so far.

For the same reason I have declined Zidane98 invite at Victory games, a good portion of a-league games we have been scheduled in years gone have been on Saturday and as The Half Back will attest. Good luck getting there on time after cricket.

Looking at upcoming WU fixtures. Next Monday but will be out of town playing golf on my public holiday.
Two postponed fixtures, presumably NSW covid related and then Saturday during cricket Jan 23. Then the Cats take back the venue for the rest of the season.
I attest.

It's strange to see someone try so hard to convince others to change their mind when they don't want to.

We heard you the first time you said it. ;)

League Two teams would dominate the A-League IMO.

You make comments like this then cry when people criticise you, except you know what you're doing. So why do it?

Doubt they would dominate, I think they would be competitive though with most sides. Sydney could probably compete at the top end of League 1 though

Considering Sunderland and other clubs were looking at bringing ALF across, I concur. The notion that League Two would dominate the A-League is bordering on stupidity.

Lower A-League players have walked into lower League One sides (Matt Millar for example).
