I think back then it was more the draw England had than their performance and they still struggled in their hardest matches.

England do have an incredible squad but they struggle in big matches and the manager is still Southgate.

I think it’s most to do with some of his squads. Choosing the likes of Dier, Phillips and Winks over Grealish is a real head scratcher.

Southgate caught on that Grealish should be in the team about a year after everyone else.

His tactics are poor - like naming two holding mids against relatively poor teams.

I think I will always be fascinated that their CL winning starting XI cost about a combined £10M more than Harry Maguire. They just play everyone off the park and IMO, they are favourites for the CL despite being on the harder side of the draw.

I dare say most did with Neuer and Lewandowski...

Neuer had more than 15 caps for Germany at the time and Lewandowski had 74 League goals for Dortmund in 131 games.
