If you're gonna base it on trophies though why not just induct United, Arsenal, Chelsea (and some City, Blackburn) players?
Who is basing it on trophies?
Hall of Fame positions in sports are generally based around individuals who are the best at that sport. Your list was the Top 50 PL players (to that point), no inference of it being trophies based.

Same criteria.

Are you subtly suggesting your original list had Dennis overrated due to Gooner bias? ;)

It depends on the hall of fame. In the US there is a lot of talk in the Hockey world about why a player who's 14th overall in Goals/Assists ever... and some commentators suggest that he shouldn't be in the hall of fame because he never won a cup. Takes a game day team of 20 to win a game, not 1. Only one other non-active player in the top 32 isn't in the HHOF.

Rings/Cups/Trophies should never count. If you're a good player, you're a good player. This isn't tennis.

MLB. Mike Trout is the best player in the sport over several years, a sure fire 100% future HOF’er and a top 75 most valued player of all time (by Baseball’s value system), all at the age of 29. He is pretty damn special as a player. Over the course of his 10 year career, he has played in one playoff series and has never won a playoff game. Team accolades should never count when you are measuring a players career.

It just seemed you were highlighting trophy stuff in your post, my bad.

Yeah, was watching PTI the other morning and someone said the same thing. Can't remember whether it was Tony or Mike.
