Never got the appeal tbh. Its slow and boring. Would rather just be sitting at the pub than forcing myself to get up every few mins to roll a ball down the grass.

I just get zero joy out of playing bowls.Takes minimal effort, you give each other sh*t, and just get progressively more drunk. What's not to like?
Play some Bocce instead with some Grappa. Now that’s a mans sportI just get zero joy out of playing bowls.

One of the better CB highlight video going around.

Bit aggressive
So would Nigel De JongeToby Greene would be proud.
Bit like Mane hahaGot the ball.
That's one way of stopping the kids from getting too big for their boots.
There's an interesting article in The Age about international gambling on Australia's lower soccer leagues. It raises the question of the integrity of the games. The players are amateurs or semi-pro at best. The refs are paid peanuts, often you get a parent or squad member to run the line. It wouldn't take much of a bribe to swing a result.
When I used to play for South Yarra we played in Faulkner Park in front of three men a a dog - but we were on the pools coupon. They switched to Aussie games during the British off season but for some reason they didn't select the higher leagues. That would have been much harder to fix as you would have to change the result of several games.

Why Australia’s local soccer leagues are attracting international gamblers
Data scouts on the sidelines provide breathless commentary on every play as suburban soccer in Australia hits the big league in international betting markets.www.theage.com.au
I was able to bet on my own team when visiting family in the UK back in 2006 if I wanted to (I didn't). Not much else on in summertime over there for football gamblers.

FFV rules says that if you are a player here you can't even bet on the Premier League!
MLS these days.
Not enough by itself to satisfy the hardcore gamblers in the UK. You've got 6 divisions of 10 teams so 30 matches every weekend to bet on. And that's just Victoria. Probably much more in NSW/ACT. The only markets were W/D/L though.
Ha ha what? That's laughable. I'm playing veterans football these days but that was never a rule back in the day for me other than betting on your own competitions.
