I wonder if she would’ve reacted like that if it was say Ronaldo, instead of Rashford.

It’s a weird rant anyway. “Why doesn’t Marcus Rashford do something charitable instead”. 😂

Absolutely. There's always a few football media identities who spit the dummy every time an international footballer picks up a sherrin on tour. This sort of outburst is nothing new but it doesn't get any less cringe worthy.

I just don't see the point in getting so worked up about it. People like Zelic work themselves up until they're foaming at the mouth, convinced that this is an act of desperation which is unique to the AFL. They hate the idea of the "local" competition trying to cash in on the popularity of "The World Game" but they're missing the point that these clubs are brands at the end of the day. They all do it, in every code.

Melbourne Victory always do something similar with Tennis players each AO season but you never hear any backlash about that. So many football fans in this country have a weird complex about the popularity of the AFL.

Do players pose with NFL and NBA players in America?

Of course they do.

I even remember Manchester United touring LA a few years back inviting heaps of Hollywood stars out to a training session and turning that into a huge PR circus.

Yeah assumed they did but genuinely didn't know if they did.

Couple of NFL teams came out in the 90s and they posed with Carey and co. Big deal. It’s a cross promo to also promote the their game not just AFL. Absolute storm in a teacup.

Small poppy syndrome.

Yes agreed, seems an extraordinarily excessive response from here. Not sure why one would be so worked up with an image like that. I can’t be certain, however seems a part of her response is in relation to Rashford specifically.

I think that response, and even caring about it all is a bit childish. At the end of the day the A-league and Football Australia are responsible for how badly they market their product.

I do understand the bad blood those involved in football at the time have to the AFL as well. It wasn’t that long ago that channel 7 bought the NSL rights to not show them, essentially as a gift to the AFL.

A lot to unpack here

By Thursday night they had sold just under 10,000, representing a total value of about £3.5m.

It is a significant figure for a League Two side, plus the club will receive further revenue via a 7.5% royalty fee if NFT owners decide to sell them on.

Crawley making decent money from their project.

They had 700 season ticket holders last season.

Whether those who purchased Crawley's NFT are more interested in storytelling or risking a shot at quick profit, Johnson and his fellow investors say they are "in it for the long haul".

They represent a range of personalities - "from dreamchasers to seasoned executives" - including YouTube influencer Gary Vaynerchuk, digital artist Snowfro and Daryl Morey, president of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers.

Haha you've got to be trolling at this point. You literally pick out a quote suggesting people have bought the NFTs with the hope of making a quick profit, which you insisted was not the point of the NFTs.

Are you truly that dim?

You do release that there are already clubs who you can buy shares in yes?

Are you suggesting that people never bought shares in Manchester United in the hope they would make a profit?

Of course you skip past the section that states what benefits holding that "virtual season ticket" can have.

So in conclusion if you hold it you get to use it for the benefits it brings then you don't care what the price action of it is.

If you want to trade it then the club rakes in even more money from sales of it.

It seems Karen that it's been a success as it's brought in a lot of money to a lower league club, gained potentially some new fans or investors who like what they are doing at Crawley.

There's also this...

Crawley Town Football Club has confirmed that adidas has become the official kit manufacturer and apparel partner of the club.

The Reds become the only side in League Two to be supplied by the leading sports brand and only the sixth club in the entire English Football League.
adidas will also be teaming up with WAGMI United to explore the future of sport through an innovative Web3 partnership. To find out more, click here.

@adidasfootball tweeted: “adidas is excited to announce our partnership with @WAGMIUnited to become the official kit supplier for @crawleytown. adidas supports WAGMI’s vision of creating possibilities for football fans globally to connect, create and belong through innovation.”

So that doesn't happen without the work and space their owners move in.

Crawley robbing their fans blind*

NFT's are nothing but a scam. When will you realise this?

How is it a scam when it can get you into a game and give you similar benefits to holding shares in a football club already does but more.

How does a scam get you entry into a game and allow you to interact with the club in promotions and even having input into decisions made by the clubs? So just like a membership ticket.

See you don't know what it does so you're spouting crap like you do.

Given they only had 700 season ticket holders and they sold 10k of the NFTs then I'd suggest your assertion they are ripping their fans off is crap.

They only avg 2200 fans per game and have slashed their ticket prices by up to 34%, so how exactly are they robbing their fans?

You not good at maths?

Adults season ticket holders will pay as little as £11 per game for terrace admission or about £15 for a seat in the stand.

The club will be raising the age limit for free admission for youngsters, when accompanying a paying adult, from 12 to 15.

They have cut season ticket costs by up to 34% and there is also a reduction to matchday prices.

It’s a scam because the fans are investing in highly speculative securities more speculative than the GFC inducing mortgage backed securities that was full of bad loans.

A few major banks predicted a big fall incl this one in May and June and most likely July proved to be the case

How is it a scam if it gets you entry into games?

It's almost like you don't understand an NFT can be a digital ticket.

So investing in a ticket that gets you into games and can get you other benefits is scamming you?

So when people buy shares in Man U that's a scam too?

Somehow I doubt Lucy has a problem with cricketers, AFL and NRL players in a football cross promotion…

One postulates that maybe the afl and nrl could continue the cross promo with football in the form of the a league

Does NFT sponsor your life or something? I've never seen someone so obsessively defensive of such a shady concept.
