The most despicable of fan sub-categories are Chelsea fans who chose the club after Roman took charge. Fans with no scruples.
The people you put in the bottom feeder category and hope no one dates them. The species is better off if they don't multiply.
3 off the top of my head that are worse.

Newcastle fans with tea-towels on their heads.
Football ultras that go round bashing and stabbing people, especially innocent fans not even looking for a fight.
Fans that throw stuff at players as well. (including using lasers at their eyes)

Get ready mate, theres a growing number of Brighton jerseys getting around at my local club.

More successful you are the more 'plastics' fans you are going to get.

We see some creeping in. But they were always there, due to being so close to London.

The thing is they get called out all the time by our long term fans for talking shit if they are slagging off other clubs and fans who don't deserve it.

Sense of entitlement it another plastic fan trait.

Yeah, obviously there are much worse supporters out there than people who jump on a successful team.

As i said, it all just depends on who you go for. At the end of the day we're all just footbal fans.

And theres no excuse no matter who you go for or who its against, just shows the character of the person.
It isn't your ilk that is the problem. People who respect and appreciate the game of football.
It's your Gosha types. Can't stand them.

And if you haven't clued on from my disdain for Carlton I don't like professional teams that cheat. This isn't Ferntree Gully 4ths where the outcome affects very few people. We're talking sports that millions follow, get emotionally invested in, bet on and passionately support.

And nothing about CFC from 2004-22 represented anything resembling fairness.
You can dislike that assessment but I have hardly been anything but transparent about how that period sits with me.

And I would definitely see support wane if we acquired oil ownership.
Would be nothing more than pyrrhic success.

Does it? Have UW93, Dbah0 or I carried on about last years flag? Don't think so. Can't think of once we've lorded it over SM and Co.
Our only references to it have been not being too fussed about results this year due to last GF day.

How many times have I championed inequities with the Dogs and North as examples. Bojan KantKick sure would remember some.
Saints are another.

To bring that back to Gosha he was in that suddenly insufferable Tigs fan category once their time as a laughing stock ended.
And rest assured after decades of being laughed at the Blues will be the same when they get their shit together.

I get you really hate Chelsea, but no English clubs come close to the shit you see happening in Spain, Italy, Russia etc IMO. Thats next level.

We also have very few contributions from people following clubs in those countries.
1-2 for La Liga and a few for Serie A.

Where do you stand on Geelong's salary cap breaches? Or is cheating a little OK, but cheating a lot really sticks in your craw?

Well i guess Gosha is gone now, which Chelsea supporters irk you on here now?
None. Started off more broadly.
Would be a good percentage of match going fans that fit the bill.

And theres much worse match going supporter bases out there than ours. English ones are tame compared to some of the other European ones.

There's a difference between actively trying to rort the system and an inadvertent error that was self reported.

Trying to compare what we did with a GST calculations on management fees (while still being under TPP) is like comparing what Essendon did with their TB4 injections to a doctor giving a patient aspirin by accident when they needed paracetamol. Our last TPP breach was a minor one in 1999.

I have copped a barrage of abuse on another part of the forum for suggesting Bancroft as the man who did the deed should have received a lifetime ban.
I have never let the Poms forget their only recent successes have come via ball tampering either.
I agree.

The culprit (Bancroft) and the man who put him up to it (Warner) should have both been blackballed from Aus Cricket.

Smith for turning a blind eye should have got Warner’s punishment. 12 months and lifetime leadership ban.

You aren't making the mistake that because I have said nothing about them I approve of them I hope.
Fanbases like Millwall for example are just vile and there'd be many more.

Right. So a little bit of cheating is OK.

Every club in the 90s cheated the salary cap. Carlton just kept doing it when the gloves came off. Any club fan riding their high horse on the salary cap is slightly hypocritical.

Definitely got a lot of hatred off your chest with this post.

A lot to unpack. Fortunately, we’ve made the finals for the first time in 10 years and I can no longer be bothered with you.

Difference is you kept a premiership, and then the AFL conveniently concluded no breach in 1995. Swept under the rug sound familiar?? They tried to do the same for Essendon before ASADA laughed and said not how it works.

But we know from articles at the time Justin Madden, Ian Collins and James Sutherland helped facilitate getting Greg Williams paid 200k between 93 and 95 for work that never occurred.

Hope you enjoy the week and we can chat trade period next week.

So cheating and achieiving success is bad, but its OK if you cheat and don't win. You can switch the goal posts all you like.

True be told, I quite like Geelong, live locally and maried into a Geelong family. I probably watch them live as much as the Blues. I also hear a lot of stories about how Geelong players are rewarded outside the cap. Which is fine, no different from Judd and Visy. Everyone pushes the boundaries. Nobody is in a positon to cast stones.

Well bully for you.

I was a plastic Hull fan. I jumped on when we got to the PL and beat Arsenal and Spurs. Didn't even stay up for the final game of the season that meant we stayed up, just checked the score in the morning. But as Moomba said, I learnt the history of the club and stuck with City through multiple relegations. Am I plastic?

The Weapon worked at Geelong and got his mate Dank to help out. Some big boys in those Geelong teams
