And as expected she is using the race card. In fact she’s using all the cards. Trying to make yourself look like the victim when you were caught red handed on body cam.

Is that the body cam that was only switched on towards the end of the encounter?

Correct. That is conduct you should not expect of a captain.

People doing dumb shit when on the turps shocker. Don't see the big deal here.

This is irrelevant in terms of the law. None of these things are against the law.

Slouching in a chair, drunkenly ranting racist abuse at a policeman undermines her story that she was a frightened girlie in the back of a cab being driven by a serial killer. The CPS lawyer will be pointing out that there's zero evidence for any of her story.

What does one have to do with the other? Is her conduct hours later representative of how she felt while in the back of the cab? Bizarre.

Slouching on a chair isn't against any law. There was no racist abuse here as per the initial CPS investigation which cleared her. Kerr gave testimony that her partner asked the driver to stop and let them out - and refused to do so. That hasn't been refuted by the prosecution either to my knowledge.

Further to all of this Sam Kerr needs zero evidence for any of her story as he enjoys a presumption of innocence like any other member of society would.

Considering the fact that the CPS investigated and dismissed charges in July 2023 this really looks like the police force trying to get back at Sam Kerr simply because of who she is.

So the cop was yelling racist slurs at her when the body cam was turned off?

Do you have proof he wasn't?

My point isn't that it supports or discredits anyone's version of events because he conveniently didn't switch it on until significantly after the encounter began. Still managed to catch him provoking her and antagonising her though so can only imagine what went unrecorded.

His footage also doesn't contain anything she could be charged with or she would have been charged back when the events occurred, not several months later when the cop decided to change his story.

And they hung up on someone concerned they were being kidnapped and couldn't do a cross reference and inform Kerr that the driver had been instructed to drive them to a police station?
The cops have to make decisions, and possibly they didn't even know who she was.
London would have quite of us Aussies living and working there, and she must have sounded just like many Aussie girls/women who have had to much alcohol.

I've read some real crazy stuff on here. But posture when drunk is up there in the hall of fame

About the only place you could get locked up for is Saudi Arabia for that.

It's reassuring to think cops upon receiving a call from a concerned woman who may have consumed too much alcohol is to hang up on them if they're expressing concern about being kidnapped. You're right, the cops did the right thing.

Was she forced to drink alcohol, or was it her own choice?

Ah ok so drunk vulnerable women should be kicked to the curb because they chose to get drunk and therefore don't deserve police protection?

****ing hell I hope you don't have a daughter.

Drinking a legal drink, even to excess, doesn't mean you're not entitled to be protected by police

Some would argue you're more entitled to protection in such a vulnerable state.

Kerr is on video calling the police "****ing stupid and white". Under the Public Order Act it is an offense to use abusive or insulting words when the offense is racially motivated. For her to be found not guilty the defence has to provide an explanation that mitigates why she said those words. Hence the tale of an attempted kidnap by a serial killer, driving around like a crazy person. And that the copper treated her differently because of her skin colour or that he knew who she was. And that she called the police but they hung up on her. Except there's no evidence for any of that.

Sometimes the simplest explanation is true. She was off her face drunk. Threw up in a taxi. Refused to pay the clean up charge. The cabbie took advice from police and drove to the nearest station. She kicked the taxi window through and crawled out. Then in her drunken state was ranting to police which included a racial slur.

You don't think that if this was an AFL captain that questions would be asked about the example they are setting?

I'm not saying she should be jailed, but questions about her suitability as a captain are warranted, especially when saying she would get the Chelsea lawyers involved.

Incorrect. The prosecution has to prove their case, prove intent.

Sam Kerr is presumed to be innocent until proven otherwise. It's how the justice system works.

In any case CPS already cleared her once of use of a racial slur. That's telling.

The police asked them to look into it again. They were told the likely result would be a fine and / or apology.

It's a disgraceful misuse of the justice system.

It's pretty common for the CPS to review charges based on new information by either the police or the defence. Once it gets to court the previous CPS rulings have no relevance to the case.

Kerr has already apologised. I think the likely result is that she will be found guilty and get a fine. But it would still be a a criminal conviction that prevents her playing at the LA Olympics.

That part would definitely be wrong.

How can a country knock back an athlete for one isolated drunken comment when they sit idly by as there's been about 200 mass shootings in schools in the last decade. A bit bloody rich.

Are you going so hard because Kerr is a female?

There absolutely won't be a criminal conviction here.

An offence / fine at most.

Seem to recall him defending a rapist despite video evidence. But that was a male player..

As I understand it, she will be either found guilty/not guilty of a criminal offense. If found guilty and fined she might face problems getting a visa for the LA Olympics. Hence her throwing the legal team kitchen sink at this trial.
