Heaton, Vardy and Charlie Austin into the England squad.
Jamie Vardy's havin' a party! Good ol' Woy's is bringin' the Charlie (Austin)!
Jamie vardy for england.
They wonder why there team is ******* shite when he is getting picked.
Most of their younger players are at the U21s (and as I'm sure you're aware, Young is injured... just saying that since this seems to be a common complaint). All things considered. If you had to pick 4 strikers with what was left, Vardy would get that spot. He's one of the main reasons why Leicester's in the Premier League still. He could work on his finishing, but when you've got as many assists as Eden Hazard in open play, while playing for a newly promoted team, that's is definitely worth a look.
Also, he absolutely destroyed the Southampton defenders, the same ones that are in the squad. You think that's a good enough reason?
But could he do it again, or against Germany, or Argentina or even against us.
Most international teams would not pick him but Woy still likes grit over technique.
That reminds me... Aloisi got a brace against Germany and Argentina (He's still awesome though. Always delivered on the international stage.)
Look, the point for Vardy is that he's not going to be playing against Germany and Argentina. He's playing Ireland and Slovenia.
He's there for the experience, and well, for Roy to try something new. Vardy brings a few things that England team doesn't have: His sheer persistence and forward pressure. That England team is same-old and boring. Even their subs are the same type. There are no options, just replacements. Vardy is a breath of fresh air that English team needs. He will open so many opportunities to his fellow strikers that only his pressure creates, which is exactly what he did during that hot run. If Woy is willing to play a high tempo, high energy game, you're going to get some excellent results from Vardy. He will assist the team in getting those goals.
Vardy's a confidence player. The fact that he's merely being selected... you let him loose on that pitch, and I guarantee that he'll have 50 million new fans.
I'm not expecting Vardy to have any more appearances in the England squad, he's purely there due to the current circumstances. But if he does impress... you never know.
Hopefully with at least one cap, that means that Leicester officially has an English International Pairing up front! (Nugent has one cap and one goal.)
