I guess I'm a bit nervous that I might not know the rules comprehensively enough to explain my decisions if challenged on them, especially with the indirect/direct free kick distinction - though I suppose that won't be a vital distinction unless it's near the box.

Probably getting a bit ahead of myself but it's starting to get out to all sections of the City supporter base and getting a large amount of positive feedback, so if I could build a following getting up into the mid-hundreds or even pushing to 1,000 eventually, I might try and reach out to Allsopp or Garcia to see if they'd be willing to be interviewed for it.

Anyone here a ref? I have my first games this weekend and a bit nervous about getting things wrong - biggest is the difference between indirect and direct free kicks. Any tips on what to do? I feel like under-officiating is better than over-officiating but at the same time don't want to let too much go.

U18s and U15s in the morning then the reserves grade for my team in the arvo before I play.

If you under officiate they'll start brawling and blame you. I referee, just over officiate and don't take any shit. Card em off if they swear at you lol

I'm actually itching to go card happy so any excuse will do. Gotta love a bit of a power trip.

That's the attitude you need, the power trip. Otherwise they will just annoy you all game. Explain the decision quick and concise and move on, ignore whatever they say unless they swear then bust out the cards.
