Get on board the Paddy Wagon.
Patrick cripps esq . If he doesn't win it this year he will win it soon. A brownlow medalist in the making. Carrying our beloved team on his shoulders like the great Judd before him. Unlike the great CJ , there is some back up for Paddy. Entree Doc. Sam D is the ying to Paddy's yang. Sam will setup play and is a great strategiser. Patrick on the other hand, just rolls his sleaves up and starts the carlton engine. Without patrick we struggle to win the ball. Game over. But patrick is nigh on the best at it, and that's a good thing. He is ours. .
Should Patrick or Sam be our captain?. Dunno. Don't care. either are just as inspiring and just as influential . Aren't we lucky to have such young leadership , that it is a flip of the coin as to who should be captain. Either would be exceptional.
But enough about the great Pat. What about his young apprentice? Paddy Dow. He starred in the JLT and we all lit up, expecting a Judd like entrance into the AFL. He was slightly underwhelming based on unrealistic expectations from JLT once the real stuff started. But that was to be expected. Even CJ would struggled to have the immediate impact of yesteryear in todays game- it is so much more taxing and competitive. So it was understandable that Paddy came back to the pack in his first few games. But what I am seeing lately, is a star in the making. He just seems to be getting better with each game. This guy is the real deal and will dominate games in the future. For the moment, he is struggling to put in the game time as his tank is understandably limited . But with every contest he shows a tenacity and cleanness. with the ball.
I am on the Paddy wagon. There is plenty of room. All aboard.
