Unbelievable. I would take a stand and say I will no longer read that rag that has the temerity to call itself a newspaper but I already did that about 3 years ago.

I've got an exclusive for you guys, tomorrows cover of The West

We need to be scared of sharks with frickin' laser beams! That's the real danger

I haven't read any newspapers regularly for about 10 years, I read most of my news online these days which is probably the same as most people under the age of fifty.

The Aldi warehouse in Jandakot is massive. They say that it's creating 400 jobs, but from what I've heard, hardly any of those are full-time right now. A few people I know went for jobs there and basically, the first three to six months you only get 20 hours per week maximum. They are over-employing to meet the demand from all the stores going online. After that initial period, they will start to whittle out the under-performing staff and offer full-time contracts. They get paid about $28 an hour which is okay money for menial work.

They have very complex warehouse systems where everything is timed - how long it takes to pick the stock or load the pallets onto the truck etc. They actually time how long it takes for those tasks to be done.

Not sure if this really true, but an interesting way of doing things.

My niece got a job at Aldi - the selection process was intense. Three or four different stages, then the training.

Staff are expected to be proficient in every area and no one stays in the same role for more than 2 hours at a time. Checkout 2 hours, cleaning 2 hours, restocking shelves 2 hrs etc

Hot me fuvked why people would queue up for a supermarket

Absolute nonsense

Obviously people with nothing better to do.

Who gives a shit about saving 20 bucks on your groceries if you have to queue up for 2 hours just to get in there.
