I love the bars, I think it should be our home guernsey. However I think those that are so anti teal to the point that they'll hate on anything and everything that isn't purely black and white need to get a grip.

The bigger picture is that the club is anti-black and white, so supporters have naturally gone anti-teal. If they're going to ignore the supporters desires, why would those same supporters laud them for bringing back gimmick guernseys they didn't ask for?

When they first did the lightning bolt guernsey, I liked the idea of it. The elements are kind of cool. But in the blur of action on a football oval, the reality is it's just a teal guernsey. It's a marketing item pure and simple.

There's only one piece of teal merchandise I'd like to comeback, and it seems to be the one that's been buried forever out the back of Alberton underneath Alan Scott HQ, like the ET Atari game in the landfill.

I mean what’s your definition of the club being anti black and white? When I was at the club store yesterday I saw multiple black and white items for sale. From the retro ‘Ports’ bomber jacket, lace up PBs, Macron PBs, “unbeatable at Alberton” shirts, and our media polo which is predominantly black and white this year just to name a few.

I have my issues with the club and how it’s run but what they’ve done with the merch this year isn’t one of them.

Look it is something I would probably get if I wasn't on a Hinkley induced membership + club store hiatus, but that seems... counter productive to bring this shit out when many supporters are boycotting spending on the club until change happens. Sales will not be maximised. Then again, maybe that is why, to get a revenue bump to cover that hole?

The amount of people boycotting buying merch etc would be minimal compared to the amount of people who will buy throwback jerseys like this one.

I typically don't buy any merch - but when it comes to the throwback jerseys I buy them within 5 minutes of them being released.

It's a great money spinner for the club.

I'm afraid there are at least 2 uglier guernseys.

Possibly my worst take, but I unironically like the dolphin jumper with the white shorts. Just get rid of the teal back and socks and it would be pretty clean.

I'm not denying that

Yup, teal isn’t the issue.

That sock just brings me back to Warren Tredreas 8 goals he kicked vs Carlton at Princess Park in 1998.

I also didn’t mind the dolphin jumper, also hated the teal back. Felt it needed a bit more black, but black number, collar and cuffs may fix that? Maybe Black socks also?

Back on this too, I am pretty sure against collingwood I noticed that we wore plain black socks, same as Collingwood. Do we no longer have the away or clash socks with the teal and white in the middle? I know they're only socks but the AFL focus on guernseys and not having a full uniform approach to clashes is pretty amateur.

The AFL is amateur.

I think because most players wear short socks nowadays there's less need to have contrasting colours/designs. I reckon they're still worthwhile for team identity though.
