Here's what I don't get.
New Era and companies like them began pioneering caps and similar merch that sported club affiliation but in an understated and everydaywear-style way.
So if you were a Yankees fan you could get a sand-coloured cap with an embossed NY logo and not have to choose between going hatless or wearing a navy and white pinstriped number that screamed HERP HERP DE DERP. Port sensed this with its 16 different variants of the Power logo, pumping fist and teal that they couldn't give away and went all black with an excellent PA monogram that promptly sold like Katy Perry's worn undergarments on Russell Brand's eBay account.
So the AFL commission New Era to do caps for all 18 teams and... they're exactly the same in design as every other piece of shit most people don't bother buying.
