Was in there last Friday and it didn't seem too much different than normal. Then having said that im a 45 year old bloke that doesn't look for too much anyway. My daughter got what she wanted and she was stoked, and then we were shipped the hell out of there due to the renovations ( I so wanted those ribbs  )

Im sure things will get better, just be patient people. Its a club, not a franchise........so we have to expect small imperfections.

I dont hear the Cows supporters complaining about their club and buying merch. And why is that??

what?

Can you not read? I was there on Friday and it wasn't too bad. I enjoyed looking around. Maybe one day you should visit and have a look instead of bitching all the time. While you're there, get on the wait list for a seat and membership.

holy shit
Is that it?? holy shit.

I physically walked into the store, a couple of days ago, and didn't have much of a problem. And i'm questioning you and you're boring whinging.

And all you have is....... holy shit.

Good on you :thumbsu:

Have a look at where I actually quoted you in my first post and explain to me what you were even going on about with the 'Cows' and franchises and football clubs and other irrelevant nothings which concern the Megastore's shortcomings in no part.

So why even quote me in the first place? Why?........unless you had an issue with what i posted.

My point is......we have a club. And a clubroom, that happens to have a merch shop. Which the cows dont have.

I'm a bit sick of all this complaining over nothing frankly. Go and support your brothers over west lakes way and you'll fit in with all the whinging. F*^Cing whinging campaigners.

tfw i am banished to being a crows supporter by PB
Sorry mate. You pushed my buttons there for a bit. I'll never banish anyone to be a cows supporter. Worse fate ever. I think we crossed wires :p

i sort of see PBs point, we're demanding the club store be set up like the glamour Adidas stores you get in capital cities or something, it's the PAFC, we're not going to have 5,000 XXL hoodies in that specific design you're after. it'll probably be a long time before we hit those heights. our lil club has come a very long way but there's probably some more growing pain to be had still.

Hmm, I don't like the argument that suggests because we can't be the best at something, doesn't mean we can't lift the standard from sub-mediocre.

This is business the club will miss capitalising on simply because the operation isn't being handled at all well. Outsourcing, #teamanton, etc.

Get to the point where the club actually stocks merch before the likes of Rebel Sport (or even within two months after these stores get stock) then a large amount of the complaining ITT disappears.

The point is that the club has outsourced and the store's gotten much worse.

It's actually the polar opposite of the 'it's just a lemonade stand in front of a picket fence' excuse you're angling at.

Port store's even making us fight each other now
The divorce of Anton and the Port Store has caused a lot of grief amongst us children of the Portz. No one likes the store's new boyfriend, Infinite Retail, either.

He's not our real dad.

While it's not great that we've outsourced an aspect of the club we all held our heads high over, I can't help but think the club must be trying to save, and very likely is saving a lot of
cashola.

Many aspects of our gameday entertainment and various investments we've branched out into over the past 18 months didn't come from some magic savings pot we had stashed for a rainy day. To achieve what we have, cuts probably needed to be made and it's clear one was made here.

I'm only speculating, I'd like to hear KT's thoughts on Friday.

The thing is it used to be good, really good, and now it's not. We aren't stamping our feet over nothing. The level of incompetence is holding the success of our club back, given how well it can be and has been ran in the past. There's money to be made, and it's concerning that cash will be going to the likes of Rebel Sports stores in Perth because there's no stock in the megastore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, how can us loyal supporters who want to see our club succeed preach to casuals about buying Merch at the club (where 100% of profit stays at the club) when the garment they want isn't available at the Port Store but has been sitting on other stores racks for months? You can't. And that's bullshit.

An organisation like a football club needs to be smart about how it gets things done.

Outsourcing something like the inventory management of the retail and online stores makes sense from a business perspective.
It's the principle of "sticking to your knitting" but finding the right service provider is crucial.

I'd be interested to know how many other clubs, if any, this Infinite Retail sub-contract to. Is it an AFL thing

Someone posted previously (Dr Feel?) that it's likely that the long term strategy is to move away from a bricks 'n' mortar store and have everything either online or at licensed retailers. I'd imagine that this is not too far off the mark. If you can get an online store working well, it cuts a lot of the costs of selling merchandise from a retails store. The difficulty would lay in the incumbent contracts and agreements we have with our online infrastructure and the restrictions of the underlying technology.

My experience with the MegaStore has always been pretty good. I don't buy a lot of gear but they've always had what I went in there for—with the exception of the black-on-black PA monogram cap—and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Remember when the club store used to put regular updates of new stock arrivals on Facebook? Remember when they used to float merch ideas on the facebook page to gain levels of fan support for potential new lines, such as the 'Pear' t-shirts? What the hell happened to that shirt? What happened to that level of engagement? It simply doesn't happen anymore.

The thing is, for those of us that can physically make it to the Port store, we would want to go there and be there in the flesh! We live it and breathe it! Moving away from a bricks n mortar store is just going to disappoint people further.
