If that's the case it's quite disappointing and said employee should probably get hauled over the coals. I know of people that drive over an hour lined up early and missed out on anything meaningful. If the club starts elevating a selection of fans above others they run the risk of alienating others.
I was also there lined up for two hours for jack amidst the disorganised chaos and will never do it again.
All that being said, the club can't be held accountable about the poor behaviour of customers.

Obviously trying to backpedal now. Its a disgrace that staff have done this. It's worth an email to KT and the show boating from the guy who first showed their face in 2014 is just as bad.

A couple things the club could logistically ....
1) better lay out the merchandise, perhaps by size
2) split up the high demand items - don't stick all the match worn together so selfish people can grab an armful before discarding.
3) move the actual merchandise away from the registers so everyone isn't crammed in. They had a whole gym and used less than a quarter.
4) maybe bidding on high demand items.
But it's hard to mitigate against the selfish type.

I don't see the point of attacking the guy and saying he's been a fan from this year or that, or how he supports the club. He's a diehard fan like the rest of us. How he supports the club shouldn't be attacked but hey what would I know. Being I live in Perth to.

The problem is that it might be hard to spot the jerks. They're not going to put their whole cache online tonight, that'll just push down the prices. Pieces will just filter through bit by bit and you might purchase something in a few weeks time not really knowing if it came from The Score of 2016 or not.

I don't think the issue was where you live. The issue is 'I GOT THIS PRIZED ITEM AND KNEW I WAS GETTING IT YESTERDAY' while fans waited outside and then waited in line for something they never had a shot at getting because the club kept something aside for him. It's pathetic.

It was a flawed idea those type of sales always are. The idea was good but was always going to turn into a Myer Boxing Day sale from the start. Needed limits on how much people could buy. But the club made money I take it so they'd consider it a success.
He's more than entitled to call someone out on how they support the club.

The problem is that if it's all done via the physical store, then you're really just switching the fans that are being 'elevated' (ie those that can get to the Store at 10am on a Saturday morning.)
From what Chokito said about the recipients of the goods, it seems that the club has helped out the WA supporters group, which is a good thing IMO. (if what he says is true)
Online auction for high demand items would have been a no brainer though.
Hell, the club could set up it's own virtual shopfront from within E-Bay for special auctions and excess stock.
