Unfortunately the way of the world is not what you know, it's who you know.

However the scabs that grab as much as they can carry and then worry about sorting out what they got can GTFO!

For me... 1 Dixon PI and a long sleeve thin training hoodie. Without leaving my recliner. Suck it.

Yeah I tend to agree.

I can't be too critical of the likes of yourself or Chokito for making the most of a contact, especially since it wasn't really exploited to a ridiculous level in either case.

Just last night I got free tickets to the PF because of a someone I know. I even commented to my fiance that it felt a bit weird going because if Port was playing I'd be jumping out of my skin, but being a neutral I wasn't all that excited about it. So then we started talking about feeling some guilt because there would've been Cats and Swans fans who'd kill to go but couldn't afford to, but there we were just for something to do on a Friday night.

Anyhoo I'm sure we've all used the odd social cheat code at some point.

He's more than entitled to call someone out on how they support the club.
Yep fair enough. But when someone started supporting the club does that make them anymore or less of a supporter then anyone else? I don't think it does in anyway.

Especially when Monty was there supporting the club well before 2014.

We all support the club differently in our own way, end of the day we all support the club, pay membership, buy the merchandise etc. That's all that matters.

The issue is selfishness of the people who stockpile and then dropped items afterwards.

The club has a certain obligation to treat all supporters, or at least members, the same. Whilst the flash sale at the physical store doesn't bother me as an interstater as I think it is still important for the club to look after those in the local area (we are Port Adelaide, are we not?), taking and reserving stock for others who won't be there isn't fair. If you're doing a first in best dressed, at least do it properly. Otherwise do it exclusively online so more people have more opportunity.

That's without even getting in to making smarter business decisions.

Two sets of Ts and Cs here.

To recap,

1) Queues at 'berton were enormous and time-consuming

2) Many who travelled from far and wide were left disappointed, some leaving with barely a Stuart Cochrane Bailey Ladders runner's shorts

3) Poster from interstate, who clearly used a relationship with a club store employee to pick the eyes out of the best stuff beforehand, comes on here and gleefully reports his haul

4) Punters, understandably, are miffed

We're a club with many millions in annual turnover as part of a billion-dollar nationwide industry and we're running ops like a mum & dad operation out of Glandore.

Disappointing, but not at all unexpected.

Anton would be rolling in his gray trackies.

I just still can't comprehend why the club wouldn't have recognised player issue guernseys are, you know, popular as ****, and sought to
a) sell them for market rate via auction
b) not turn their sale into a Black Fridayesque free for all

Utterly mindboggling.

Speaking of the operation.... Hand written receipts today - 2 hour lineup just to pay, zero security, saw at least 10 items being stolen.

Also - who buys match worn shorts? Any of you that did pls explain why?

Or maybe I don't wanna know? #sniff

Have you not been paying attention to this thread?

You said, "He's more than entitled to call someone out on how they support the club."
I'm intrigued to know where that entitlement comes from?
Why do people even care how someone else supports the club?

The issue of getting merch held for them appears from the outside to be one of sour grapes. He got 4 items and if he's true to his word, 3 of those items are going to members of the WA supporters group.

Unless there's some underlying issue that I'm not aware of, that doesn't seem to be a big deal to me.

I'm no TV detective, but there seems like there's a difference between a mate giving you some of his second-hand clothes and a staff member shamelessly cherrypicking the best shit before an open first-in/best-dressed sale.

Dick Smith staff got slaughtered for doing this in the big fire sale. Publicly in the media.

In Chokito's defence he reported his modest booty before it became apparent that people had missed out due to the eBay Hyenas devouring the PI carcus.

He's not the bad guy.

Now this is an issue that I agree with.

Not sure who runs it but it just seems so poorly managed.

The amount Chokito promotes the gear he gets I reckon is enough that I don't care if he gets a bit of access

See tribeys post. Pretty well sums it up.

Don't think Chokito is a bad guy but it'd be naive to the consider he's the only punter who used friendships for advantage here.

There wouldn't be a club store in the league where there aren't insiders getting special access.

Its retail. If you know someone you get the good shit.

We all wear Port merch, all the time. We just don't feel the need to tell everyone we're doing it.

Yeah so that 'telling everyone' is the difference.
