We're so lucky we've got 5 genuine players through the draft. I remember when all but Mcstay were playing and some were speculating that he may not be as good as the others. It really was a year of striking gold! Now for Freeman to come on and dominate !

I think we have 6! Aish, Gardiner, McStay, Taylor, Cutler and Robertson. If Freeman can come on and dominate it will be 7!

Honestly thought Mayes found a tiny something today.

He has had a very quiet year and today I just noticed him a bit more, once Richy comes back and Mayes is pushed back to the forward line - I think we'll see his first year form again.

But in all seriousness Crisp's shots on goal were much improved from last week.
Showed real composure I've not seen from him prior to this run of games. That goal of his on the run in the first quarter was pretty special. Good on him for cementing a spot in the 22.

Midway through the last term we had matched them for inside 50s. Offensively our midfield was very good for most of the day.

rockliff 40 possessions, 10 marks, 10 tackles (a quarter of the lions total tackle count) and a goal. remarkable personal effort considering how bad the support around him was. well and truly cemented his place in the starting AA 22 now you'd think

That moment in the second quarter when freeman did all the hard work (but not the kick at the end of it).

Freeman did a few nice things IMO to suggest he has the talent to play afl, well now see if he has the work rate, discipline etc. anyone who remembers browns first game will know that first game stats don't mean shit!. Largely the key forwards never had a ball kicked to their advantage all day.

Crisp continues to be a positive these last 3 weeks.

Very small positive, but it was nice to hear Leppa clear up the Moloney thing a bit - saying "I know people think I don't play him, but he's been trying to play for the past few months and hasn't been available for selection". Hopefully that means that if its not oldmanitis he might be able to help out a bit next year.

Crispy's earned a new contract, I reckon.

Is good to see Bewick, Martin and Crisp all show something this season. Im sure all three were in danger of being moved along just a couple of months ago. Martin has become best 22 and Bewick and Crisp have shown they have something to offer. Well done lads!!

It is good to see Crisp come in and slot straight in. In his first season I thought he was impressive, he looked like a footballer and seemed to just 'get it'. Clearly just lacked the fitness, size and experience. He has been really impressive, I hope he plays out the year. He can easily play off HF as well, he covers the ground well and finds space to be a goal kicking HF mid type.

Robbo keeps showing signs. He can keep working on his game in the ressies, but I would like to see him in seniors as well. He does well, but needs to adjust to the pace of the top level. I think he is just about to the point of dominates ressies too easy, so needs a few senior games to adjust. He isnt there yet, and even next year I dont think he will be, but I think after that he will start stamping himself on games. His work rate is great, he gets in good positions to recieve and support, but does get caught too often. This isnt always his fault, as he does cop some hospital hand balls that he has no hope of dealing with, but he needs to be able to find and option and go with it. Maybe playing an outside role in the ressies, maybe even off half back to help develop his defense and disposal parts of his game. He will get there though.

Bad day for the forwards, but I liked freeman. Took a nice one hand contested mark and did some nice little things that wont register as stats like some good taps and blocks, showed a bit of footy knowledge. Needs to bulk up, and get fitter so he can get on his bike, but ig was good to see what he can do, and he will take plenty from it.

That first fifteen or so minutes where about four or five separate times we came streaming through the middle using handball and peppering the goals. From memory I think 3 of them resulted in goals, it was glorious

After losing our first 4 games, my son's U14 team has won 7 in a row !! Including beating teams that trounced us at the start.
First final next weekend. It's a final four concept and we finished third. Every game now is make or break
