Since the players have now returned to training I thought it would be worth starting up a thread that deal solely with Pre Season. Anytime a poster has a report from a training session or any other news they can simply post in here instead of starting a new thread every few days.

As it stands all players with 1-3 years were required to return to training today. The session consisted of a light run and a series of fitness and strength tests.

Players with 4-7 years of completed service are required to report back this Thursday 30th October. All players with 8+ years are required back on Thursday Novermber 6th.

Pre Christmas training will run through until December 20th and will resume on January 5th 2009.

Tigers return to the track

The first group of Richmond’s playing list returned to training today ahead of the 2009 season.

Players with 1-3 years of completed service began their pre season with a light training run and a series of fitness and strength tests.

Players with 4-7 years of completed service resume training on Thursday 30 October, followed by players with eight or more years of service on Thursday November 6.

The Tigers’ pre-Christmas program will run until December 20, before resuming on Monday January 5.

The 2009 AFL season kicks off on Thursday March 26 against Carlton at the MCG, before a trip to Skilled Stadium to play Geelong in round two.

Very good news to hear. Hopefully Polak will be back soon too. Hope that none of the boys significantly de-proved their ability over their break.

Train hard for '09.

Hey guys,

I was having a coffee down at Barwon Heads this morning when I noticed Wayne Campbell, David King, Jade Rawlings and Choco Royal sitting and chatting at the same cafe with a few young guys. One or two may have been U18 players while another could've already been on Richmond's list (was wearing a Tigers polo).

All the best next year,

gb.

A couple of points of interest from the article:
Cotchin, Riewoldt and Connors have not stopped training since the end of the season. They have been running the tan 3 days a week and bike riding the other 4.

It also mentioned Rance blitzed them in yesterdays triathlon and Jake King is recovering from an ankle recontruction.

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Who are some of the guys from the Geelong Falcons who have entered the draft this year?
The one that comes to mind would be Luke Rounds but thats about it apart from Dangerfield and Cordy who would be worth talking to

Although, must admit, cant say I've seen too much of them.

This could've been a stop with 1st to 3rd year players on the way to ocean grove.
