Anyone else hear the end of channel 9 sport??
Cometti confirming that freo had offered a first round pick AND Dunn for Hay.....AND they rejected it.

My god.
Abosolutely enraging...What a disgrace

We do need a bigger body at full back no doubt but id rather try and develop Johnson or Murphy for that role long term. Connolly is trying to buy his future and while i think Hay could be useful short term we are offering well over the odds.

What annoys me is that they denied shopping him around! Say one thing do another has been the way for this admin since they started.

But I have to say the way a media report is worded can make it sound worst than it is.

S.O.S. TO THE LIONS- PLEASE CONVINCE MOTLOP TO HEAD TO BRISBANE!!!

That's the only way we get out of this farcical situation. The only reason the hawks knocked back our deal is because the roos think they will be able to offer pick 9 and 13 after they trade Motlop. If that doesn't happen then they will accept Dunn and 10 and we will get shafted.

I'd like to get the view from the supporters who still think Connolly is the right coach for us. Are they happy with the proposed trade of Dunn and pick 10 for Hay? Surely everyone can see that Connolly knows that Dunn and pick 10 will have little benefit in 2006 so he is selling our future to cover his own backside? Whats disappointing is that Steven Icke's name also gets tarnished in thi situation as our football manager. If he's happy to sell the farm for Hay then he deserves to be in the boat with the other 3, but if the senior coach and CEO have gone over his head his position becomes redundant.

If the deal goes through, and any of the 4 exciting prospects at East Freo slip through to pick 10 it will be a disaster. Hawks could end up with Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, Ryley Dunn and Swallow for Hay and McPharlin.

Maybe wait til a deal is done before you make claims as loaded as you are.

Well I guess I'm a CC supporter (qualified support), but I don't like that trade. I'm not sure that I trust that it has been offered either. However, Dunn has done nothing. And neither has pick 10. I would be happy to trade either of them, but not particularly for Hay.

Not a big fan of this trade either. I share everone else's concerns, combining the hint of short term thinking with our spotty record on older players leaves me unexcited about this affair.

This trade also frustrates me. Was listening to 6PR tonight and Brad Hardie mentioned that Freo had offered up that deal to get Hay. Hardie the clown that he is, mentioned that Freo has to get serious about trading and not offer up nothing for Hay. Freo have offered them pick 10 and Dunn (pick 10 in 2003) for a guy we may only get three years out of, and he said it was not enough. He said the deal could only be done with Polak involved, and that Freo should do the deal because it is best for Polak. Best for Polak, is he kidding? Barich was trying to say that Freo didn't want another Adam McPhee situation but Hardie started talking about how Freo had to take a risk.

Anyway I am now dead set against this trade because the maximum I would be willing to give up for Hay is Dunn only because he has potential. Please Kangaroos find a way to get Hay, Freo I hope they realise are out of their depth.

Yeah I heard some of that and had to switch off petmax. He's obviously one of those guys who doesn't understand the draft and sees a draft pick as just a number. If pick 10 and Dunn turn out to be guns he will be the 1st to put the boot in though.

Gav- the fact that Dunn has done very little doesn't really matter. He could be used to trade for a good player or a draft pick. Dunn doesn't seem to have much of a future at Freo, and like you I would be happy to trade him, just not for a deal that we get shafted on.

I was staggered when I first heard it.Hawthorn would be laughing

Keeping pick ten should be a priority I would have thought, unless they belive they can get an early pick for Polak later in the week

Well if Polak was pick 4 then it will have to be picks 1 to 3,nothing less ! Polak should not be considered because he will develop as a "AA" quality player at Freo.

I honestly think that Confetti has got it wrong. Fremantle probably offered pick 10 or Dunn but not both. I can't see the club doing that trade without a mass exodus of members. It would be ludicrous.

I really hope your right because I could not handle another pathetic trade like this again. The worst thing is, this is the first time I am definate that Freo will loose out on this deal before any of the players have played, its just that obvious. If CC and the recruiting staff are doing this for the short term success of the club and stuff anything else, its just the most disappointed I could ever be as a Docker supporter.

I am a foundation member and have had seats for my wife and i since day one living in hope that someone with half a brain will stear this club in the right direction.I have had to live with the pathetic mistakes this club makes year after year and as a docker supporter we all know deep down we are the laughing stock of the afl.as a docker supporter the closest we have got to experiencing the excitement of a premiership was watching those mutts get done by 4 POINTS i loved it.Now these clowns want to give away pick 10 and dunn for hay who cant even get to sleep at night because hes poped to many pills in his football life.I am now convinced that this club is trying to give me the sh-ts and i tell you what they are doing a good job.

Hawthorn are off there rocker... Theres no way well give up anymore....right??? :o
dont you believe it we are talking about the dockers we all need to get on the phone to freo and vent our anger but that could be a waist of time these clowns think they are doing a good job

IMO

Getting Hay would be good, but not for a 1st rounder.
Trading Polak would be good, but for a top 8 pick or quality player...these people saying Polak will become an AA, are dreaming, fact is he has been on the list for 4 years & played 3 great games, 10 good games, 10 average games & the rest have been carp.
Ryley Dunn still has a big reputation from his U/18 potential in Melbourne, but from what I've seen he is a crab, poor kicking skills, lack of pace, poor reading of the play - trade him now whilst he still has a market.

Hay for 1st rounder & dunn - a complete joke though - try a 2nd rounder & Woods or similar

Why can't they just maintain the current list and draft some new kids? The club should make a statement and show their faith in the kids coming through. Send Johnson to Japan for 3 months to live and train with sumo wrestlers if they need too! Their diet could do him some good!

I would rather they keep Dunn and all their draft picks. If they want to trade a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Spanderman then do it.

im with you man, i like polak because he is a docker, but i seriously think he is overrated by our fans. He can take a good mark, no doubt there, but i think he goes for the speccies at the expense of good defensive play. Times when he should be fisting through for a behind and he trys for a screamer have hurt us... his kicking for goal is embarrassing. I wouldnt trade him for hay, but he is definatly trade bait for someone decent if they were available...
