I'm 4X vaxed and still no COVID. I wear a mask at the supermarket still. What am I doing wrong ?

I'm triple vaxed and never got a positive result... although I had a man flu that I was convinced was covid at one point.

This report seems recent and seems to say that they are effective.

I think the role of a healthy diet and lifestyle is really underplayed in avoiding COVID.

Same to you mate, your posts are always genuine and real. You have had a crap year with significant loss, hope you have people around you going forward you trust. Have changed my thinking on MU supporters - you listen to others and reach out, continue to do so.

Look forward to reading more of your posts.
That's very kind of you, Verdun, many thanks. A happy new year to you and yours. Who knows, perhaps even St Kilda will have a good 2023!

The powers that be would have us believe that neither are a factor the pigs. Resulting in the nuffies still wearing masks, even outdoors ffs
One of the truely great images of COVID.

I've read some studies, eating a lot of chilli and cruciferous vegetables should greatly reduce severity and risk of contracting in the first place.

Also being breastfed as a baby
Had Covid twice, not a problem
RIP

Here is a theory for you. COVID originated in China. China play the long game and lockdown from the world for 2 years.
Now they open up and spread new variants throughout the world. China plays the long game because they have the population
to sacrifice. New variants decimate the rest of the world. China loses 20% of its population. Big deal. Economic chaos globally.
China is now the boss. Have some respect.

CCCMP: Corrupt Communist Child Murdering Party.

They have form as a nation, is factually correct, you never know the depths they will go to....

4 x vaxxed, got itchy eyes in September, apparently covid, had two days off and fine.
Thank goodness for the vaccine, otherwise could have been much worse.

Happy New Year to you all...why are you all still banging on about Covid? No one cares anymore. If you're vaccinated, good on you...If not, good on you. You have your reasons, none of them are right or wrong...as we will never be privy to the REAL information. Either way, live with it.
Enjoy yourselves, live your lives...make 2023 worthwhile.

Herecy!!!

There is a lot of variables there. 83% had had at lest 2 doses. People vaccinated might be more likely to move around the community believing that they are less likely to catch it. Also most of the vaccine's effectiveness seemed to be in its protection from severity and death rather than making you immune to catching the virus. It would be interesting to see it reviewed.

Summary

What is already known about this topic?
Immunity from monovalent COVID-19 mRNA vaccination wanes over time. A bivalent COVID-19 mRNA booster dose is recommended for all eligible persons; however, little is known about its effectiveness against COVID-19 hospitalization.

What is added by this report?
Among immunocompetent adults aged ≥65 years hospitalized in the multistate IVY Network, a bivalent booster dose provided 73% additional protection against COVID-19 hospitalization compared with past monovalent mRNA vaccination only.

What are the implications for public health practice?
To maximize protection against severe COVID-19 this winter season, all eligible persons, especially adults aged ≥65 years, should receive a bivalent booster dose and consider additional prevention strategies, including masking in indoor public spaces.

Those who received the bivalent vaccine were 84% less likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19 than those who were unvaccinated and 73% less likely to be hospitalized than those who received two or more doses of the monovalent vaccine.

Happy New Year and get .................................................................vaccinated.

I am seeking miraculous help!

Christmas Eve I woke with what seemed an innocuous ache in my butt...the glute in particular...muscular or bone I didn't know

By the night it was clear something had changed. The pain started to radiate down the left thigh then even more severely into the calf muscle. Obviously the sciatic nerve was in play. If I stand and arch my upper body back and to the right it alleviates the excruciating pain in the glute area to a tolerable level and i can walk to a degree...it requires constant re adjustment but is workable for necessity.

Upon researching I am leaning towards piriformis syndrome. I attended casualty at the local hospital whereby they conducted a CAT scan. Evidence suggests nothing untoward other than what I already knew and that my back was out.
There was a Gaul stone and a small kidney stone but nothing moving or contributing to the glute and sciatica....although a Kidney Stone can give that impression...they ruled that out completely.

They noted I was in immense pain and recommended an OSTEO or similar. They gave me two Endone on the night which did help to ease most of the pain. Sent me away with 5 Endone tablets.

I have been in constant pain since...tried to get to see my Doctor for attention, could only get a phone consult...prescribed Codeine Forte. via Escript. Booked to see OSTEO on the 3rd of JAN.

MAYBE someone on here has a little piece of magic information.....anything that is intended as serious help.....Its been a shit week....The Cod Forte don't cut it for the pain.....The usual "If only!" keeps dribbling out of my consciousness but there must be something. It seems I put it out so easily...didn't even notice...Surely there must be a way back in!

Where is the guy with the medical marijuana farm? Some gummies might help. Cancer patients swear by them.

A mate came around and rolled a few spliff....it helped in a general sense but hardly miraculous...didn't reduce the constant pain just distracted me intermittently...maybe gummies are better ..don't know! Drag my ase back down to casualty get some decent pain relief again I suppose! Its hard to even find a position now that's pain free1

Its kind of obvious that if you are going around coughing and sneezing into peoples faces, you are more likely to spread whatever flu-like virus or bacteria you've got, than if you don't.

Vaccines make it less likely to have those symptoms.

Ironically the masks are more effective at limiting the spread on a person who is coughing and sneezing, than someone who doesn't want to catch it.
Its long been a custom in places like Japan, to wear a mask if you have a cold, so that you don't spread it.

Wife recently developed the same pain travelling all the way down to the calf. She has been given a blocker, which has provided some relief without totally eliminating the pain, and it has also helped her to sleep. She has just had a scan that has revealed a bulging disc in the spine (L4-L5) that is putting pressure on her sciatic nerve.

I was thinking sciatica too but didn't want to diagnose as I ain't no quack. As my grandfather would say to any of this type of thing:
an hour or two in the hot saltwater sea baths in St Kilda will fix you up. Not sure if that is still an option.

I've had some sort of sciatic pain, though yours sounds worse. At the time i was on Voltarin. I'd find myself moving in bed at night and waking up in agony. I had to move slowly all the time.
Driving to work and getting in and out of cars was a nightmare.
It went on for weeks, until i thought this would be my new life, then it went away as suddenly as it came.

NOTE: While i had it , it got better and worse with different weather conditions.

Have had it before too. It’s a weird thing where you lock up against the pinch but can’t get it to let go often. I found to get the sciatica to go you’d need acupuncture then dose up on anti inflammatory drugs. If you take them too late they are useless.

Physio is good to learn how not to do it again but getting it to unlock is hard.

I wouldn’t suggest this because it’s nuts but when I get it I go to the gym and lift heavy weights and it loosens. It lacks scientific logic but works for me. I also dose the Voltarin up, gel is meant to work better but doesn’t for me.

If you have any sort of digestive thing going on, anti inflams are both literally and figuratively the shits, so, also check any side effects, ask me how I know....

Physio >>> Chiro. Work of the devil that one.
