Not trying to steal StFly's thunder, but it was my turn today.
My old dad had an infection, and he was too fragile for treatment.
I got a call from my brother in the night and we all sat with him through to midday. Sometimes he would open his eyes, and it was good that he saw people he knew and loved.
We didn't know how long it would go on, so we split watches.
My brother called me an hour ago.

Pretty happy the Tigers won for him when they did.

ChatGPT just added an audio function so you can interact with it through the spoken word and it is unbelievably good at conversing. Like something out of a sci-fi movie.

You choose a voice and away you go. And it transcribes the conversation so you can return to it at a later point.

I asked it to do some simple calculations in real time for me in relation to work and it spoke the answer like I had a super efficient knowledgeable assistant nearby.

If I had of asked Siri she would have directed me to a website that could do the calculations after I input the variables by hand.

I feel like it’s changed the way we can calculate or compute.

Counting boards, quills and paper, abacus, slide rules, calculators, computers and the internet all represent leaps in how humans can calculate and compute and solve.

It feels like ChatGPT is crossing a new threshold. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s making significant leaps very quickly.

Nah I’m home having just had my daughter, son in law and grandson visit for the first time. He has carlton kit out and I’m having a beer to stop me from burning that stuff .

You see I have a problem similar to you, but possibly even more distressing. My son has become a dedicated sainter, but my daughter, gasp, has followed her grandmother in following the filth.

Here is my cunning plan. I'll take the Carlton kit and dispose of it responsibly and give you an alibi for when the act takes place.

Yeah, I got half way through Gervais and couldn't be bothered. I usually like everything he does but he seemed to have rushed this out. It was crap.

Felt like I was in a 90’s American movie this morning.
Wanted to go inside, have a single bite of the toast from the banquet my mother had prepared for me, and yell I’m gonna be late for the bus as I turn on my heel, backpack slung low, cap backwards of course.

Yeah, I got halfway through Gervais and couldn't be bothered. I usually like everything he does but he seemed to have rushed this out. It was crap.

I'm a massive fan of Gervaise, but he seemed a touch off in this one. Like a batsman scratching out a battling knock of 30-40, searching for form.

It would be ironic if he was trying to avoid too much trouble, and held back somewhat, despite some deliberate shock tactics. I can't help but feel he was holding back.

Still plenty of chuckles, but none of the usual gasps of horror, nor guffaws. Maybe Netflix had a quiet word to him before filming.
