Had never heard of these guys, they have some interesting products. Expensive tho

And just an aside, I think RJ is one of the best at these pedal demos. Obviously a great player, but he doesn't overload everything with gain and play shredder licks all the way through the vids. And he actually goes through the range of the pedal and shows what the controls can/will do. Loved that first guitar he was playing by the way

I’ve got a couple of mates who manufacture in Australia (no idea if these pedals are made here) and you’re always going to pay way more for stuff made locally. But it keeps jobs here so if you can afford it pay the premium I reckon.

Went to Echo Tone guitars yesterday. It's become Melbourne's best guitar store imo. I remember when they started out. Had a really small store. I bought a tele off them years ago. They've since moved. Now the vast majority of their stock is used. Some consignment, some stuff they've bought.
I've always loved the idea of a Gibson J45 but never found one that spoke to me. I took 4 into a booth yesterday and was absolutely blown away by the difference in tone between them all. They were made in 2017, 2008, 2004 and I forget the last one. I ended up buying the 2004 one. It absolutely smoked the other 3. My girlfriend was with me and while she's no tone connoisseur, it was blatantly obvious to her how much better it sounded than the other 3.

What a store though. Could blow 100k without blinking in there. Lots of weird quirky tesicos etc as well as your typical stuff. There was a 1969 jazz bass that was begging me to bring it home it but it was 10k... so no... that won't be happening.

Here's a recent video a dude did on the store. I'd encourage anyone looking for a guitar in Melbourne to check this store out.
