NUFC, YES.
That is such a sad story. I especially feel for his parents, particularly after hearing his dad talking about how many times he tried to bail Ben out of trouble.
That's the thing. This isn't someone who came from an impoverished background or had a history of abuse, mental illness or other assorted problems that often contribute to substance abuse.

He's come from the most privileged of backgrounds, with huge familial support/opportunities, with the natural talent and work ethic to match.

And he's thrown it all away.

I would've thought you of all people would have been on this site for at least a decade!
I have, but I just used it to dig up some really old shit today, and a great photo which is no longer on the Boss' website the other day. Just wanted to share with those who haven't use it yet.

My feed was largely bemusement followed by 'oh well'. Most people here don't care.
It was weird, I had mainly old people having a meltdown like full on tantrums because their side didn't win which was the complete reverse to normal, they went through all the stages, demanding a re-vote, linking videos claiming that a few people would now change their vote therefore everyone really wanted to stay, everyone's a racist, shouldn't have let the *insert insult here* people vote.. basically having trouble coming to grips with going from being in the majority for most of their life on EU opinion (bar a few patches) and ignoring the slow turn against to suddenly realising that their view is the minority one.

Then there were the Scottish people freaking out they wanted out and independence to then go and become dependent again on the EU straight away and simply not coping when told that their economy wouldn't even come close to EU acceptance standards.

I'll start reading my news feed again Saturday night when there's bound to be one person going full virtual 3 year old in Target being told they can't have a toy melt about whoever won, there'll also be the "I'm moving to another country" person.

Flip: Remain wins, passionate Leavers chuck tanties and push the conspiricy angle that they love. Both sides of politics have their share of large babies.

You gotta admit, Leave has led on people massively if they don't find that 350m funding for the NHS. In addition to that, the youngns voting remain (majority) getting angry at the older demographic (majority leave) is totally justified considering which of the two has to live with the consequences for the longer time.

My extremely pale and blonde wife doubts she has an Egyptian foot!
I'm confused too, my background is all celtic, but apparently I too have Egyptian feet.

When I was studying ( many moons ago ) the long 2nd toe was usually attributed to people of eastern European origin, probably just another generalisation that has changed over the years.

Your wife is what is known as a white gypsy or "carny". Run while you can Jim.

I went to the USA v Canada Ice Hockey Challenge last night at the Entertainment Centre. Perfect excuse to drag out my vintage L A Kings jersey. I have watched plenty of games on ESPN and the like but you do not realise how fast it really is. Great skills and plenty of action. The referees keep out of the game and only get involved when really needed unlike a game we all watch. I can see where Port Adelaide have pinched some of their pre game and in game entertainment from to.

I ask my daughter who came along to what she thought. Her reply "Good, but there wasn't enough fights"

What sort of child am I raising?
I said to Mrs Wharfie at the first break that I was disappointed at how slow the game was and that the players didn't seem to be taking it too serious. Even the AHL games I've been to were played at a greater pace. The second period was an improvement and the final period was a cracker. Its a pity Canadia (sic) lost although there were 3 or 4 Canadians on the USA team, including their captain.

Good to see Bill Vis there and enjoying the rink side dining (and booze). I found it annoying that the announcer kept calling him "Billy" Vis.

As for the pre-game and in-game entertainment, that is typical of what I have seen at other sports in the USA.

I'll try and dig up the article that I read on the weekend and post it here but there were indications that the majority of those who didn't vote were in the younger demographic. Say what you want about Boomers, (and I often do), but they certainly take their right to vote very seriously.
