My god, did he really just say that:eek: (times have changed for the good in a hurry)

After being pretty much a bum for the last year Ive finally got my shit together and have decided to apply for Uni in the mid year.

feels good man.

Kinda used my mates as motivation seeing how they got rejected for Uni a year ago they re applied this year and got in. Hell even one of my more less bright mates got into a psychology course so I guess there's hope for me after all :P

I like my job but I hate how disorganised the whole thing is. I wasn't trained to do my job nor did anyone organise for me to be trained (I taught myself lol), I haven't been reimbursed for the uniform I paid for (even though I've given receipts and reminded them several times), I'm getting taxed at 45% because they lost my tax file number declaration thing and they're always changing my shifts around without telling me.

I wasn't rostered on for today, but on Wednesday they called me asking if I could work today (Friday) so I replied saying I could. They called me about an hour later telling me not to come because they had read the rosters wrong and didn't need me, so I said fine. Because I was told not to come, I didn't, yet they called me a few hours ago and, in a rage, they asked me why I hadn't turned up.

blaah. time for a new job.

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o is the biggest f***wit in sport at the moment.

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/16/teos-grlfriend-who-died-never-existed/?hpt=ac_t1

.....

The story goes that in September, in the span of just six hours, he learned that both his grandmother and girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, had died. In a game days later, he made 12 tackles and led his team to a 20-3 upset over Michigan State.

10 days later Te'o skipped his girlfriend's funeral because he said she made him promise he wouldn't miss any games. Notre Dame won, and Te'o was given the game ball in memory of Kekua.

He later gave an interview to ESPN describing the emotional toll of losing his grandmother and the love of his life.

The Deadspin article laid out the details of an extensive online search that yielded no results on Kekua, her death from leukemia, or her funeral. The authors also traced the origin of Twitter photos from an account that claimed to be her and found a real person who was shocked at how her images were used.
Burke and Dickey looked into Kekua after they received an anonymous email last week.
Today Te'o released a statement, saying in part:
"This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her. To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone's sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating."
Burke doesn't believe Te'o is completely innocent. For starters, he says the story of the couple initially meeting face to face doesn't add up. "When Te'o said 'I know I'll see my girlfriend again someday,' we know now that they never saw each other in the first place," he says. Burke also says he doesn't have an opinion either way about Te'o's guilt or innocence in the matter and was just trying to solve the mystery.

That is a truly bizarre story. I can almost buy that he was sucked in by a cyber relationship ... after all apparently intelligent people hand over money to scammers all the time and even continue when they know it's all wrong.

But it does have a whiff of someone trying to be a smart arse and put one over the media and it spiralling out of control.

Yeah its bizzare and the media in the US are jumping all over it. I first noticed Wednesday night / Thursday morning on ESPN. Then the rest of the cable networks and network news picked up on it.

The Stephen Trigg story is the most bizarre in world sport at the moment.

How the **** does he have a job?

I wonder if over in the states if the Notre Dame BigFooty supporters will have 30 000 posts in one thread about Manti?

Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o is the biggest f***wit in sport at the moment.

Skip Bayless and Mike Greenberg both pointed out on ESPN last night that Manti is also an Academic All-American, so to believe he could be this gullible and stupid is a stretch.

When you look at the inconsistencies of the story - he supposedly met 'her' numerous times, he claimed to have sent the white roses she supposedly requested to 'her' [non-existent] funeral - it's hard to believe he wasn't part of the scam.

And above all else, the guy is the national face of one of the most famous sporting institutions in the United States who resides on a college campus! The guy should be swimming in a-grade honeys, not naively ICQ'ing a girl he now claims to have never seen on Skype, let alone in person.

30,000,000 might be more accurate. ;)

When I was doing my insurance work in the Cambrai / Sedan area, I was told by several locals not to wander on some properties east & north east of Sedan, or I might be greeted with a shotgun

I figured I had enough work to do anyway ...
yeah i worked on the Broomrape program based out of murray bridge for a few years and we were told to be very careful when searching certain properties for booby traps and other things. it is amazing what you see in the middle of nowhere
