I was listening to the cricket in the car yesterday on Radio 891 and in a break they played this great comedy song about how the English team (to be fair it's actually the English/Welsh team) consists of people from all over the world who are conveniently considered English if they can play cricket. It was quite good and I knew I'd have no problem remembering the title when I got home so I could look it up, no need at all to write it down. Now of course I can't remember it, the game got super exciting and life intervened in other ways too. Does anyone know what it was called?

Fairly recent entries for me are Shaun Marsh, and as of today's lame effort Chris Rogers. Rogers' dismissal was as lame as Uncle Fred playing family beach cricket and tipping the ball to one of the kids so he could go get a beer. Even shonky sub-continental bookies would refuse to accept money owed to them for that dismissal, on the grounds it looked too choreographed.

Like footy there is no reliable guide to ability at the top level except playing there so we have to experiment. We keep trying to find a new Hayden/Langer combo and we can't even find one of them.

IMO the psychology of him pairing with a business-like Clarke is the key here. More Robin than Batman (no pun intended).

I just watched The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

If you like your bad movies with a bit of retro stylee, you can't go past Ed Wood's, Plan 9 from Outer Space. Bad dialogue, bad acting, lack of continuity, disintegrating sets and visible wires & boom mikes. Amazingly bad.



This was the film used in a great live comedy overdub done in the 80s, Double Take Meets the Astro Zombies. They also did the same treatment to an old italian Hercules film from the 60s.

This is a corker of a movie, so bad its fun to watch. The 1995 film about Ed Wood called Ed Wood, staring Johnny Depp was very good detailing the eccentricities ( inc womens pink sweater) of Wood.
