Australian astronomers find star 13.6 billion years old
AUSTRALIAN astronomers say they have found a star 13.6 billion years old, making it the most ancient star ever seen.
The star was formed just a couple of hundred million years after the Big Bang that brought the Universe into being, they believe.
Australian astronomers find star 13.6 billion years old
So the Big Bang happened approximately 13.798 ± 0.037 billion years ago
What was about 13.85 billion years ago?

I'm uncomfortable with absolutes, there is no largest, just as there is no smallest, so define space, what's one km past that edge?

I'm thinking of renaming this thread the 'get really a get these days brother thread'.

Are you suggesting he could use a map?He couldn't find his way around his own jocks without a map.
I think you're referring to the Russia v Finland part of WWIIThere's only one sport at the Winter Olympics that's any good. The one where they ski around the countryside then pull out rifles and shoot each other....or something like that.
Hi,
This is really random but i couldn't find anywhere else to ask so here goes.
I have been given a silver membership for my 30th, which obviously guarantees me a ticket to the showdown at Adelaide oval.
My question is, my daughter is 3, can i take her in to the ground for the game to sit on my lap or would she need her own ticket?
I can't seem to find this info anywhere on the net.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I don't directly know the answer. Normally I'd say splash out for the tiny amount extra a kid's game day ticket costs to ensure entry. Then even at very full games you can usually move around and find two empty seats together. This would be much more comfortable for both the two of you and those next to you in your proper seat. But with a potential sellout getting that extra ticket when they go on sale is the trick. The second thing I have to say is I wouldn't recommend taking a 3 y.o. to a game with a large crowd. I've been there, years ago, I know what I'm talking about..... My question is, my daughter is 3, can i take her in to the ground for the game to sit on my lap or would she need her own ticket? .....
Well that's different. Speak to the membership people down at the club and explain the situation, that you just want to get her in but don't need an actual seat. When you say you are one of our new sign-ups and part of a 5 person group they will sit up and listen. I don't know what age people are expected to pay for their kids, I'm pretty sure not at 2 but at 3 .....My family has 5 tickets including mine, 5 seats next to each other, so she will be ok to shuffle back and forth between us.
No doubt it will be a bit of hard work, but worth it to say in 20 years that we were at the first showdown at the oval together...
