Yeah that was a beauty.
I was going to put liqueurs in general but wasn't sure younger posters even touched those anyway. I wonder if that has all changed with alcopops? We rarely drank spirits other than that they fortified liqueurs. I particularly foggily remember one night at the Lonsdale in the late 70s where our group decided to drink only the brightly coloured liqueurs and you had to change drinks after each one. Not our best decision but we were seeing a friend off to the Navy and it remains a famous night in our circle. And yes a hangover to write home about.

No but to be fair we didn't know how to drink them. We were like the guy in one of Billy Connelly's jokes who is told of Creme de menthe and goes and orders a pint. My dad developed a taste for Advokaat when he served in the Middle East in WW2, he would occassionally sit and drink a small shot glass of it. So I thought that was how you drank these sorts of drinks and my mates were no more cluey. But while Curacao (for example) is horrible by itself it's fine in a Blue Lagoon.

Bwahahahaha, my mate stayed the intercontinental after he came down from renmark for a bit with his wife, for what he texted me as "deep penetration and fun".

Regardless, he gave an honest review of the intercontinental hotel.
