If you haven't seen "The Water Diviner" yet, do yourself a favour and so.
Yea I thought it was alright, I have a few problems with it but I won't spoil it for others :thumbsu:

Ehhhh.....

Its tough times mate for the religious no doubt
Probably because in this day and age people aren't oppressed by religion and the facts are all around you. I mean you'd have to be pretty committed to believe that shit day in day out.

Or drummed in as a kid. My mum was full on pentecostal christian. I just loved my sport and fishing. I fought her all the way. She's only just accepted me after many years and i'm a grandfather.

Jesus is not coming back to save you're souls. Just enjoy a few indulgences while you can. Life is very short.

Yeah.....but the thing is....

I grew up catholic....when I was old enough I questioned my religion ....i looked at the pope running around with all the luxuries in the world gold rings velvet robes the vatican draped with gold and realised Jesus was a freaking carpenter why are you (the pope) living large "practise what you preach" so to speak ....you could easily solve poverty and have the power and money to do so

That right there made me quit religion.....I decided to do my own research into what science says.....well to me...my opinion.....I have no doubt in my mind science tells me there is a creator or diety....but I dont believe in the principles of religion or they way they are governed today.

So I can feel sympathy towards true genuine religious people but I can understand a athiest point of view

Each to their own when it comes to religion, if you don't force it on me I have no problem.
I have however lost a few mates to the Hillsong-ish types & anything that completely takes over your life and encourages you to break up life long friendships with non-believers is simply untrustworthy and unhealthy.

I have read his theories...i have read einstiens too ...there many clever people who go against both... .

i believe einstien summed it up the best..."the more i study science the more i believe in god" he also goes onto say man would be in a very poor way if he lived in fear of punishment and reward after death"

basically believing in a religion and a creator/god are 2 different things....

This is not subject that you can base your beliefs on what anybody says...you really have to read everything as there is no right and wrong answer....its truly based on the individuals perception and conclusions of those perceptions....if you are truly interested you will find your own answers

I've been turned off of proper atheism by the absolute gronks who seem to most frequently champion it.

Richard Dawkins has become an embarrassing parody of himself.
Your average Facebook atheist needs to chill the **** out.

Your friendly Muslim neighbours read the same book as ISIS. Your local charitable Christian pastor reads the same book as the guy who murders a doctor at an abortion clinic in the US. People twist the words of their chosen holy book to justify whatever they want to do, so it's time to stop blaming a belief system and start blaming people for their own actions. People define themselves, they aren't defined by religion.

....I have no doubt in my mind science tells me there is a creator or diety....

This isn't the 'science hasn't given us all the answers yet, therefore magic must be responsible!' fallacy, is it?
