And by time on of Q1 it was literally

I was with the family on holiday down past Torquay, smug as **** with my Port gear on in the morning walking around the shops, amongst mostly Geelong supporters.

Well I was bawling my eyes out by the second quarter and didn't watch the rest of it with my head buried in the pillow, TV far off in the other room. I'll never watch the rest of the game.

I was so pumped. I had to work that morning, but finished at midday.
Went to friend's house to watch it.
By the second quarter my mate was outside chain smoking, and was just stuck on the couch, staring at the TV. It was horrible, but I couldn't look away. I was just dumbfounded.

Lived in Melbourne during both our GF's and went to both. In 2004 after the years of choking (let's not sugar coat 2001 - 2003) and Brisbane by then firmly established as the modern great era team I was happy to be in the GF and thought we'd lose.

2007 Geelong were great, but as noted had that reputation. And it was close enough to 2004 we had plenty of players who knew what to do on the big day and wouldn't have nerves. With that recent close win over them I thought we'd get a close win. That Brett Ebert miss, when we needed a goal to keep us in it, you knew then it was lost early, but the margin .... I lasted till half way through the last before I walked out of the MCG in disgust.

I was well on my way to reaching Boris Yeltsin on the drunkeness scale by that stage, never went back out to my seat. The last thing I remember about the game was my missus selling about 6 beers my mate and I bought before the bar closed mid way through the last qtr. I believe she kept all the money.

I've read somewhere he's not happy with SVOD, DVD deal rather than budget to do script justice, hopefully it's just public negotiating to get a better deal.
