Dont get me wrong. I hate judging anyone or anything. We have some beautiful places in Australia to visit on the cheap. Some majestic places.

We have to educate ourselves on where these places are. And if you get caught with drugs, you face one day in the lock up, and a stern magistrate after that. Not the ****ing death penalty.

Why piss in your own backyard when you can piss in someone else's?

Only the worst dregs of society go to places like Bali, Bangkok and Vietnam for an actual holiday. They are stopover destinations you visit on the way back from elsewhere to stock up on cheap gifts you can give out like confetti to your friends and relatives.

Me and Mrs Piston are off on a cruise in July. Leaving Brisbane and all the way up to the top end. Yea i know its all touristy, but i have the chance to dive on the Barrier Reef. Take in some top end towns, just soak in Australia. I love my country so much.

Its not just a reflect thing, we've saved for bloody ages for this. Saved really hard and sacrificed a few things. I'm just so pumped that i can see more of my country. I'm sure i'll put a few pics up here.

My retirement will be spent on cruises. For 60000 a year all my accomodation, food and travel is sorted and I can pop on and off wherever I like....might even snag me a few Cougars .

Sorry but that is a very poorly worded statement. Yes a lot of people go there but many are what you would hardly call dregs of society.

FWIW I've been there once, went for a friends 50th, not interested in going back.

Notwithstanding my own opinions on the matter, I found it (sadly) highly amusing that the same Government that sends illegal refugees - men, women and children home because they 'broke the law' were fighting so hard on behalf of these guys.

Australia screaming and whingeing about Indonesia not helping stop refugees and the boats didnt help these 2 young blokes. We ask the Indonesians for.compassion but a bit hard for their government to give a stuff when we put people in big orange lifeboats toe them back to Indonesian waters, and then push them off back towards Indonesia, not really giving a stuff about what happens to them.

Doesnt endear you to the Indonesian government and ask them to change their laws and interpretation when you wont change yours. Both countries drongo leaders can be tough on crime.
