Opeth were amazing. Flawless set....

Ah shit. Was talking to a mate about this gig before I came down and how I was gonna miss it (in Bris that is although I have seen Opeth previously). Stupidly never considered them playing here.

And at The Gov... Incredible room.

Well, I've learnt my lesson. Do not go on the Crows board after a showdown, (very) light-hearted ribbing not tolerated! :D

After the Showdown I popped over to look at their game day thread. The usual should have won, umps blah de blah BUT then thought
hey lets scroll back to the start of the game. Predictable circle jerk over Betts goals before it got interesting, REALLY INTERESTING
We started to kick goal after goal and the truth started to come out. They started savaging their own players, the umpires
even having a go at their crowd for being quiet. If this wasn't good enough music to my ears it then got even better.
They started to laud our play and players. Seriously the thread could have been us posting and not them.
Conclusion. When the veneer of anger and hate towards us is a side issue to them focusing on the actual game,
there is even some respect for our players and style of play. Their in ground jealousy came to the for.
It was like footy pornography

And the power of the riff compels me !
Tony Bourge is like the Alipate Carlile of the guitar world I tells ya... underrrated

He wasn't in the line-up I saw unfortunately but we briefly met Bourke Shelley afterwards really nice bloke stayed there signing LP's and CD's for quite awhile after the gig.

Who is/ was affected by the great SA power outage? looks like a good quarter of the metro area is out at the moment.

Some campaigner stole my son's car outside my house this morning. If you see a silver Subaru wagon looking dumped out in the western suburbs, let me know.

What's more chickenshit than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.

Many moons ago, my car was stolen from Elizabeth Town Centre. Few days later, it showed up in Two Wells. So my brother drives me out there to pick it up.

They took the steering wheel cover... and that's it.

Nothing else. Thought they might've at least nicked a hubcap or two. Or the battery. What about the brand new Spalding basketball in the back seat? FFS, they didn't even bother with the $1.79 in shrapnel.

Elitist car thieves...

yep, I work at the airport, power outage lasted five seconds then generators kicked in

Our power came on for about 30 seconds before cutting out again. It's back on now.

Oh electricity, how i missed thee. :)

The first 5 or 6 Budgie albums are as important as any Sabbath or Zep albums if you ask me.. riff kings

Maybe the name Budgie put people off - would have been considered '****y' in those days - unlike Atomic Rooster: great name, but sadly only had one really awesome album (Death Walks Behind You).
