I think your first statement is absolutely moronic and you're basically a really dumb guy for thinking that.

NV was better than 3 but it's really just more of the same.

I'll almost certainly get 4 but i'm coming to the end of my credit with the series, like when a band you used to love releases a few bad albums in a row.

I don't even have high hopes for the Bethesda Fallout 4 though. I expect the dialogue to be shitty and the animations to be wack but you can build your own base bro!!

(I'll put 300 hours into it ****)

What is it with the game Deus Ex and it's fans inability to take any criticism about the game.

Here is the Zero Punctuation review of Deus Ex.

Base building is always boring as shit (unless you're playing the Sims then it's unlimited fun)

There is no reason to replay DXHR, not even once. People are still replaying Deus Ex today and finding new and cool things you can do because of how free and open it was. There was an objective, and a big wide open level full of things you could manipulate, from crates to characters to security systems. Nobody was holding your hand or telling you how to do it. You might have played it through 10 times and someone will be able to give you all sorts of cool things to try out.

That sort of shit is really missing from modern AAA games.

Gaming reached it's peak with the first Knights of the Old Republic. It's a scientific fact.

The hot dog crust pizza thing is really when fast food finally signalled "We really are in the murder business"

I liked Jon Stewart's description of that monstrosity.

"I can't wait to eat this pizza. But you know what else it could use? 28 hot dogs.'

I replayed HR 3 times lol. The Choose Your Ending! ending was shithouse though.

Base building is really shit. Spawn featureless scripted NPCs! Build a chair, place it in your house, where it will never be used and nothing ever happens!

In a game which should be about making difficult moral decisions and surviving in a harsh post-apocalytic world, base building is just stupid. Most underwhelming part of the gameplay reveal. Extensive weapon customisation on the other hand is brilliant.

I like the FPS nature of Fallout now, but I do like tactical gameplay. Dragon Age Origins was ****ing incredible and the combat was the most engaging thing I've probably ever played. It would be cool if they did it in this style.

If they had that kind of combat engine with a new Fallout it would be pretty sweet.

If you have the time, you should genuinely play Deus Ex. And then talk to someone else who has played it. You'll feel like you're talking about a different game because you'll have had wildly different experiences depending on what sort of build you have and what decisions you make

Dragon Age Origins was silly.

It's combat was fine, but pretty pedestrian. Better than Fallout 3 though.

The issue with Dragon Age Origins was it had that really embarrassing Bioware thing where they make every single person bisexual and able to be romanced, which, when coupled with their "look how progressive we are!" attitude is absolutely cringeworthy. Worst writing ever.

Also it was about as on rails as an RPG gets. Everyone will basically play the same game in a pretty similar order.

If modern games want to go for real time combat, they really need to go down the Dark Souls/Bloodborne route.

God you ****ing suck man. Back to the PCPP forums you absolute hack. Never talking about games with you ever again.

But I do agree with you on their writing of sexuality. I'm not explicitly offended by it, it's just unnecessary.

God I love aspartame.

I drink diet coke or pepsi max because it doesn't give me a sugar headache
It will just **** with you in other ways. Cutting out Aspartame was a heap harder then ditching carbs for me. Bloody addictive shit. Still would kill for Pepsi Max most days :(

I think KFC's 'double down' where they used chicken fillets instead of bread was about that mark, I never had one but they did look fine.
I wish KFC would bring it back. Healthier then wrapping stuff with grain based shit. Would take great joy in partaking in one of those bun less ones next to a sanctimonious Vegan (is there any other kind?).

I have never understood the love for pepsi max, it's taste is akin to that of the original roofing tar Mother.

It's alarmingly bad, but what's worse is how proud they are of how badly the write female and LGBTI characters

I'll never play another Bioware game and I grew up on the likes of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and KOTOR. Those games were really clever and interesting RPGs.

Basically it boils down to: The games I played when I was a teenager are better than the games you played when you were a teenager.

Aspartame is nasty, evil shit.

Yeah look, it's not even that.

There is a lot to do in Fallout 3, but it's all so shallow and easy. It's just a procession to the end of a lacklustre story that has absolutely no engagement with the player.

The turn based combat of Fallout and Fallout 2 was really interesting and actually tactical. You had limited points, multiple people in your party and multiple enemies. You had to use your brain. It was what made the game fun. The cheap psuedo turn based VATS system in Fallout 3 is boring and overpowered. It's too easy and you don't have to think. At all.

Also, much like every other Bethesda game, the world just doesn't react naturally to what you do. The first 2 Fallouts were absolutely brilliant in this regard, and the game changed significantly depending on what decisions you made.

Fallout 1 is a legitimately more interesting game that is infinitely more playable and replayable than Fallout 3.

It's a bit like how DXHR is a poor imitation of the original Deus Ex, which is arguably the best game ever made. They just didn't get what made Deus Ex so good and so they made a boring typical modern action game that misses the entire point.

Haha, yep.

Very similar to Baldurs Gate which was my poison back then.

BG2 almost lost me a long time girlfriend. It became called "The Game".

I remember leaving football park in the mid-90's and a sumo-tier gentleman was munging a camelhump-sized pie with one hand and sipping a Diet Coke with t'other

People make fun of those types for obvious reasons, but when it comes down to it, what has more calories, that pie and a Coke, or that pie and a Diet Coke?

Both!

I reckon Arcanum is better than both though. Probably my favourite game ever

Arcanum is the only Troika game I haven't played yet. Heard plenty about it both good and bad, I guess I should add it to my growing backlog! Want to finally finish Deus Ex with the revision mod installed and do a Malkavian playthrough of VtMB first tho...not enough hours in the day :(
