Timothy Dalton, between the Bond films, and Hot Fuzz, there was a lot of nothing.

A good Bond though.

Dalton is quite dry imo. He came along after Roger Moore if I recall. Moores stuff was more comedy and fun, Dalton is a bit more serious.

Fair call, it was really good. I wonder if he sacked his agent?
Yeah, his agent was an idiot. Bond's won't be popular any more. Had the chance to listen to him at the Astor in Melbourne a couple of years ago and some of his stories were amusing. Certainly was the stereotypical Aussie lad, despite being a male model back in the day.

I know that now you lid :p

Never trust urban dictionary because then you will be saying campaigner thinking it means something nice.

"John is a campaigner" while it may be true, woud not be a compliment you were intending.

Haha I love the word campaigner. I try to use it as much as I can, when I think it'll fit. Never saw it used on English or American forums so I think it's a very Australian thing

He should have.
Bond would "be archaic in the liberated 1970s" or something like that.

Yeah, I enjoyed his two films. Shame he didn't get a third.

GoldenEye was originally written for him, it was darker and dryer.

Still love it, be interesting to see what it would've turned out like though.

It's true meaning is only known on Big Footy. And then, only by a select few

Who needs Mr Pam Shriver when you can have a near-geriatric Bond relentlessly mugging for the camera in a succession of romps as camp as roasting s'mores while singing kumbaya around an open fire

Woulda been interesting as well if Sam Niell got the gig when Moore stepped down... would it have meant no Dr. Alan Grant though?

From good old cracked

James Bond says, "Well my dear, I take it you spend quite a lot of time in the saddle."

Jenny Flex replies, "Yes, I love an early morning ride."

James Bond then responds, "Well, I'm an early riser myself."

As you see from the clip (the exchange is near the beginning), we have sexual innuendo delivered as if they're talking about the geological features of Nebraska.

We've come a long way as a society from Bogart and Bacall sultrily exchanging innuendo over cigarettes to Roger Moore and Allison Doody discussing sex as if it was as exciting as a variable interest-bearing mutual fund. Bond is so bored by the idea of sex at this point that the obligatory pun is a chore for him. "Yeah," he'll say, yawning and glancing at his watch, "I get boners a lot."
