When we were looking 12/13 yrs ago we quickly recognised the feel of the house is very important. We wanted an older house but these were often scenes of hardship & tragedy and, don't laugh, we believed there is residual vibe of ghosts past that becomes part of the houses character. We settled on a place built in 1889 that had a good feel.

doesn't sound very black metal mate :p

if anyone's been to martindale hall in the mid north, that joint has a pretty creepy feel in some of the rooms. one of the upstairs rooms they kept a 'cretinous' child that was basically confined to the room until they died at 5.

"However, in 1892, debt eventually forced Edward to sell Martindale to William Tennant Mortlock, who bought it a year after marrying his cousin Rosina Tennant. They had 6 children of which only 2 survived adulthood, one being John Andrew Mortlock. John inherited Martindale Hall and bequeathed part of the Estate to the University of Adelaide. The rest was transferred to the University in 1965 by his widow."

Well, that would be why.

Also:

"The owner reported to us on how she had woken to find a girl standing in her room but on reflection thought it more to be a boy, as in the early days boys would wear their hair long. It is believed to be one of Mortlock’s sons and in particular Valentine who died in 1906 aged 9 years old. It was reported that he possibly had downs syndrome and cerebral palsy. Although much loved he was confined most times to his room for his own safety. She spoke to the child but the child did not respond. Valentine hasn’t been sighted there for a while and the owner likes to reassure people that all the ghosts at Martindale Hall are friendly."

DETECTIVES are treating the drowning death of a man at Trigg Beach on Friday as not suspicious.

SES volunteers scoured the beach for clues to the identity of a man in his mid-50s who died in the surf.

St John Ambulance officers were called to the scene about 11.45am on Friday after the man was found unconscious in the water.

He was rushed to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in a critical condition under priority one status but was pronounced dead a short time later.

It is believed the man’s hands and feet were tied up when he was pulled from the water but WA Police said they could not comment on the reports. o_O

Murder at Stephen Trigg Beach, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, they say there is nothing suspicious going on.

Sounds Triggish.

WA Police have been known to make the odd 'clerical error' or two over the years.

Well isn't it obvious the man is now deceased due to clerical error?

You know how escape artists say "Don't try this at home" before they try to get out of a straight jacket while submerged in a tank of water? This is the tragic and predictable result when you don't follow their advice.

That pole on the roof freaks me out man.

I don't think it's a pole. I think what you're looking at is a service like gas or electricity that had to be run through the room because of the solid stone walls and the people were too cheap to chase them into the stone. You can see from the other pictures that there are cables running along the surface downstairs.

As for the vibe of the house - it reminds me of this flash horror game I played called Exmortis 2.

Can we have a hiatus from the bloody Simpson gifs? Especially the Montgomery Burns 'Yes' gif. It's been done to death. Please for the love of god, mercy! No more!
